Looking to see if anyone has this watch and what they think of it as far as quality for money. Are they happy with their purchase and would they recommend it.
I really like the blue or black versions. Have been eyeing this watch for while. Let me know if you have it and what you think of it. Good or bad.

Always liked this watch, had one and sold it on but the build quality was very good. Recommended

I've been super intrigued by Glycine since I learned about their relevance in the Vietnam War, i.e. that the Airman model was apparently very popular among combat pilots.

However, what has kept me from buying one yet is this little fact:

Now, I'm not hating on Invicta. I actually think that they have a few decent models that are actually pretty good "bang for the buck". I even own a Pro Diver...

However, Invicta is also this...

I know, I know... This shouldn't keep me from embracing Glycine in the same way I embrace Omega (which is owned by Swatch, who had their fair share of ugly watches... Although probably not nearly as hideous as the atrocities "created" by Invicta).

But I can't help but think that subconsciously this may be the reason I never pulled the trigger on a Glycine.

Apart from all that, I think that Glycine is a super interesting Swiss brand with an apparently rich history and attractive models (they have a pilot watch series with strong IWC pilot vibes that I like a lot...). The Combat Sub is a pretty cool watch too and from the positive feedback I've read on gen forums, I also have the impression that they must be pretty good value for the money.

Thank you all for the input. Based on my research both the airman and combat models are well made and good value for their relative low price. The fact that now invicta owns this brand has held me back from pulling the trigger, but I like the combat 39mm too much to say no to it. I agree though, Invicta does make some of the most hideous creatures. The ones above are the horror.

I think you should definitely get one and not worry about who owns the brand too much.

I'm pretty sure that down the road I'll get an Airman and actually keep it and not flip it like so many other watches. I have this plan of building a small gen collection of Aerospace-relevant horology pieces of which I now only have a Speedmaster moonwatch and a Bulova moonwatch. Next up are a Fortis ISS / cosmonauts and a Seiko Pogue (before they become unaffordable — it's already not easy to find one in good condition) and then at some point certainly the Glycine Airman.

Uuuugghhhh.... Yawn. I get it's a joke but still. Nice jabs on Invicta. They make 4 to 5000 references per year. The tooling to change it up like that is pretty amazing. They might bend Omega over and make it call it daddy. Anyway, I seriously doubt they would do anything to another brand that has a different clientele. Plus, look at a Pro Plof, deep black, etc. does that not look like Invicta? Nobody calls a Pro Plof an Invicta. But darn if it doesn't look as ugly as the watches posted. It' gets old after a while and it actually hurts another watch brand for hipster jabs.

As far as the Glycine combat, you're going to get a good watch. Just look at reviews anywhere. You're going to get a good watch. It's going to have a good movement. It's going to have a good build quality for the price. And it's going to have a good price. Just watch y tube vids and you'll see. I also did not know they made a 39mm. That ought to tell you something. They know they trend. They know the market. 39mm is a good size. I've considered one a well but at 39mm it makes a more compelling argument.

They have interesting deals on various brands all the time. But despite them often being interesting even with added EU import taxes and duties, I never pulled the trigger on a watch with them.
