So, I've been rather obsessed with a guy on Flickr who combined bits of a Planet Ocean with the venerable Seamaster Professional 300m 'Non-AC' to create a rather unique custom piece.
He call it The Sea: 'PlanPro'; I call it brilliance.

Being the avid Omega lover/collector that I am I immediately fell in lust and had to have one of my own. I reached out to him and shortly after sourced my own parts. I had an old 2254 SMP laying around that was in need of repair so I began the slow process of buying the needed components; one of which was a new 1120 Cal. movement I was able to pick up NOS while in Switzerland in 2011. I was able to find most other things from Ofrei by way of special order as well as an array of parts from the 'bay'.
I'm relatively new modding and watchmaking and found it difficult to justify spending hundreds of dollars on tools so I reached out to Katt and Goin who are helping me with the construction. Here is the latest from Katt:
I've made a couple of 'modifications' of my own using Railmaster hands with the Planet Ocean sweep hand. I decided to go with the Double AR 42mm crystal to increase the blue hue effect on the absolutely gorgeous dial. It looks great is the Flickr album but it's truly stunning in person.
Once I get the case clamps and screws to Katt I'll send it off to Goin to install the 42mm Planet Ocean crystal and bezel but until then...
Here is what the final product will resemble:
