Bonjour fellas!
Need some advice about Chronopost/Customs at France.
On April 15th sent a gen Omega Flightmaster to a guy from Singapoure residing in France (so his French is quite poor).
Used my local express carrier LPexpress (LP stands for Lithuanian Post). Now in France this package is taken over by Chronopost for further delivery.
By the way - Lithuania is in EU, so it's "inside EU" journey.
The last tracking that shows the status of the package in France goes like -
mar 22/04/2014
11:29 Chronopost France
Envoi en transit Lieu:Roissy - Paris - FR mar 22/04/2014
11:29 ROISSY INTER CHRONOPOST
Envoi en cours d'acheminement mar 22/04/2014
11:27 ROISSY INTER CHRONOPOST
Envoi entré dans le pays de destination
Me and receiver gets mixed answer from all the carriers (LPexpress, Chronopost, La Poste) and customs itself. First they told it was lost, then that it's held at customs, now unofficially status is "lost". Actually the customs dont give particular answers, only those template ones, so no help here.
So, any insights would help on this situation of what might have happened? I'm thinking of the worst case scenario - it was stolen. In this case I'm having a huge loss because the maximum insurance sum for this package to France was ~500EUR (which is about 1/4th of watch's value).
Now I'm blaming myself of not have used DHL or UPS or similar...
So, what can be done? Maybe You already got a good contact (email, phonenumber) in Chronopost or Customs (by "good" I mean willing to help and give proper answers) to clear some light for me?
