Dear All,
Since we are all fan of the Royal Oak in this Forum, please be aware that Gerald Genta has passed away on August 17, 2011...
The information has been confirmed by various sources over the last 3 days.
For those who don't know him, he was responsible for a handful of the most iconic watch designs of the 20th century, including:
- Audemars Piguet's Royal Oak,
- Patek Philippe's Nautilus,
- IWC's Ingenieur SL,
- Universal Geneve's Polerouter,
- Omega's Seamaster Constellation,
- Bvglari's "Bvlgari Bvlgari"
Genta's work has been dubbed by some as the "the Fabergé of watches"
Sadly, the clock is ticking for all of us even for the most iconic watch designers...
Requiescat in pace - RIP Gerald and thank you for your major contribution to the watch industry...
