I am interested in purchasing a genuine croc strap for my Pam 111..

Now I was looking around, and found a pretty affordable one from Panatime.

I have two questions.

1. I had a croc grain leather (the ones with only the croc prints embossed on) before, and it sucked...
Is genuine croc very soft and flexible?

2. Has anyone bought the above strap from panatime? Can anyone comment on the quality?

I haven't bought from them but believe it or not, gen croc bands are usually frail compared to cow leather; I had a couple of gen watches with croc straps and they fell apart in a year or two... granted, I wore the shit out of them. I don't know, I'm a fan of more sturdy and rough leather. All of them GET soft after wear anyway, so might as well go for durability IMO.

I've had dealings with panatime before. they are EXCELLENT! ships fast, emails you a pic of your straps ready to ship and tracking. they're based in NY so I personally get their shipments in about 3 days. I havent tried their gator straps, but I did get some stingray and ostrich when they had them. very happy with them.

I got his Gator--and I like it. I think mine is pressed cow--but high quality!

Thank you all for great reviews.

By the way, CISO1969, did you get the Croc grained leather one (about $20) or the real Croc one ($50)?

I bought the croc grained one from them before, and it failed within days...

That is why I am now considering real croc...

OK.. Let me rephrase the question..

What there difference between real croc strap and croc embossed strap?
--> I mean softness, flexibility, or feel wise... you know...

Is it worth extra $$$ to go for a real croc?

It has been my experience that most gator or croc straps under $100 do not have a desirable pattern. They typically have more grain to them than let's say one costing twice as much. For the money, the Walter croc strap for around $100 is tough to beat. It is the closest thing to the Panerai OEM strap out there. I have 3 or 4 croc straps for under $100 that I never wear when all along I could of purchased 1 for alot less. Let us know how the Panatime strap works out. Although I said I would never buy another croc strap for less than $100 I also learned to never say never. Good luck with the strap!

Wow! Most people are not answering his question..

The gen PAM croc strap is flexible, but is a bit _stiffer_ than the embossed products.

However, I like the feel!

Why don't you go to a PAM dealership, and try on a couple ones with croc... see if you like.
