Has anyone tried to fit a geniune ETA 7750 movement into a replica watch?
My Chopard Mille Miglia broke down, fixed it but now chrono stops due to broken teeth on the second wheel.... I know the size is right, but I am concerned the crown and the hands won't fit/stay on the genuine movement. I was looking at something like this:

Many thanks for any feedback.

If your movement is a true replication of the 7750 everything should fit just fine.

Thanks, but to my knowledge, the chinese replicas are nowhere near made exactly like the swiss eta. Functionality is the same, but no parts fit from one to the other. For example, I have a few parts that I bought swiss trying to fit on a 7750 replica: reversing wheel, weight bearing, central chrono wheel... None of them fit. Hence I am a bit concerned and wondered if anyone did this transplant and the crown and hands fit....

Because if I swap the whole movement (this is a close case back, so the look is not important) all I need to fit is the crown and the hands (assuming the push-reset buttons are the same position, which they seem to be.

thanks!

Yes, everything is a direct swap except for the chronograph seconds hand. The post is a slightly different size so therefore you would either need to find a genuine seconds hand or take the risk of having the existing hand brooched. Also you may have to utilize an ETA day and or date wheel. When I did the conversion in my IWC I had to obtain an ETA day wheel because the replica one was having issues with the date change. Luckily IWC uses the standard ETA font so it was not a significant issue. Over the years I have had three watches switched over from Asian to ETA without issue beyond these.

Thanks a lot. That's what I was afraid off... I can't seem to find genuine Chopard hands anywhere... I might need to rethink it. How was the fit, was the hand not large enough to fit on the axle or too large (if you can remember)?

The replica hand metal was so soft that it basically spilt in half. Results can vary, but my experience is not to bother unless you can find a genuine chronograph seconds hand. Look around some, you might find a similar hand from another model you can use.
