It's no rep, Panerai put 150 undecorated movements into the 318. It's funny really because the reps have much nicer movements than the gen but the gen will cost you 20x more lol

Most of us could build something better at home with rep parts than that.

I think what probably happened was this......

The watch needed to be ready for the NYC boutique opening, the didnt have the OPII movements, so popped in some base unfinished movements and hoped no one would notice.

Someone did!

They can, when TSHTF Panerai ended up offering to replace the movement with a better version for free. This has been discussed in a long thread here somewhere and there are threads on it at most of the gen fora, WUS, TZ etc. There were a lot of very pissed off owners out there. The biggest tell of the BB rep is the movement is too high a grade.

Just as I predicted would happen over a year ago. Most got the replacement so ergo, the original MVT becomes rare.
