Just saw this extreme example of wear on a PAM 005 mainplate from manual winding. Look at all the debris that built up in the jewels!

Good article and something that makes me reconsider buying gen. One of the things I love about pams is they are often simple manual winds. With closed casebacks you can drop in a seagull st36 anytime for 40usd.
