I want to share my GEN Panerai 005 VS Noob PAM 111 (The Latest version on Feb 2012)

I bought this noob PAM 111 from PT , This is the latest version with single AR + Very good finish Crown Guard.

Both of them using the Original Panerai GEN Strap.

The Noob Factory PAM 111 is using the Single AR Coated now, that suppose to be same as Genuine, The GEN PAM 005 also is Single AR Coated, but if you hold the watch in real life, The Dial on PAM 111 is not easy to capture than the GEN Pam 005, The Gen one looks very clear by many angle, the Noob PAM 111 has little reflection , so the dial looks a bit Matt Black, but I think it's about the crystal problem, I know the previous Noob PAM 111 is double AR which is inaccurate because too easy to capture the crystal, but now seems not enough AR coated if compare with GEN... and the GEN PAM005 N series is using Vintage Hands, but PAM 111 Noob is not, pictures below:

The Crown Guard, That's so surprising the Noob Factory PAM 111 (Latest version) is very Good Quality! I can tell you if you compare with GEN, it's almost 100% same quality of finished. The Lever Gap on the crown guard is almost exact same with GEN.

The movement Winding feeling very similar, but the GEN movement is very quite, The Noob Pam 111 sounds louder, lol, but it's not big deal. The Lume is almost same level of brightness and long lasting. but I feel the GEN Pam 005 Lume color is more white than the Noob, but maybe they are different model.

The conclusion are the Noob PAM 111 latest version Crown Guard is very perfect if you side by side compare with GEN Pam, The case also very good , I feel the shape is exactly same. Lume is Good quality even compare with Gen. The only concern is the single AR make the dial looks darker, since the PAM11 is using the sandwich dial and now the crystal is single AR, so if compare to GEN PAM005, it looks not very clear when you side by side compare in real life.

Lume shot! Left Noob Pam111, Right Gen PAM 005, many people say the noob lume is not enough, but I have test over 10 times , I feel they are same level of glow.

Thanks for taking the time to do this. Its amazing how close pam reps are getting, for a fraction of the cost. A gen crystal on a 111n and it would be damn near perfect no?

Thanks for this review and comparison
Really the PAM 111 N looks awesome and very very close to the gen, case, bezel, lugs, dial, CG ... all is very similar and with the same shine and finish !!! There are no differences !!
Nice to see the degree of perfection in the new PAm's reps.

Thanks again for sharing it

thanks for the comparison.

the only tell from a spectator looking at the watch is really the bearing pin on the lever.

if you reference the top shot of the crown guard, the genuine has a very visible bearing pin whereas the noob rep doesn't.

otherwise, there almost no visible difference from the front.

I usually trash all the leather straps. How is the strap on this one? Is it really gen like?

This is not the rep strap, This is GEN Panerai Strap, I bought from AD.

Yes, but actually the noob also has the pin but not very visble.

Not very visible is right. I had to take a loupe on my 111n to see it.

So there I was, all set and looking forward to ordering my first ever Panerai which would be a 390. Then I come across this thread...and ask myself,"maybe I should order the 111N instead?". Another dilemma on the cards! :picard:

Thanks for the pictures by the way, great comparison even though the watches are different it gives us a good idea of how good the CG is on the 111.

Anyone know who has the newest 111N in stock with black leather? I am about to pull the trigger on either the new 380 or 111N.

That's not actually a tell though since the bearing is actually not visible on many gens.

Apparently the noob factory actually spent a lot of time making sure that you *couldn't* see the bearing pin since it's not visible on many gens and from stalking pics of the gens I have to agree that it actually doesn't need to be visible at all, the pin just happens to be visible on the gen 005 shown here.

The tells are mostly that the earlier N versions had the wrong hands and the serial numbers were lousily done but they've updated those as well so the only really raging remaining tell would be the incabloc.

No one can tell, better u ask from any TD.

IMO, dont buy it with so called rep calf leather or whatever leather.
i regret choosing rep calf leather as my strap that time.
the feeling sucks and it even doesn't feel like a proper strap for my pam.

u can try to see those croc leather, they will look better
or buy after market straps

pondering between pam N or M version..:hehehe:

i believe, N or M is the same.
when i order my pam112M on trevor,
it comes with N which is latest version (after research)
so, it should be better but its not a big deal whether M or N.
