Canada, but in Hungary... for now
Hi everyone,

Is it just me or does the subdial placement on the 531 seem off. It looks like it's packing a quartz movement with it crammed into the center. I think they might have done it like that so the subdial isn't blocked by the large GMT arrow, but I don't like it.

Below is a pic of the way it is followed by a pic of how I would want it to be. Thoughts?

TITLE EDITED BY MOD:

Original title was: PAM 351 me no like the subdial placement

With original title people thought that the dial at the left side was a rep and the dial at the right side a gen. And rep maker had made wrong subdial placement

If it were me I would have put it in the middle between the OP's choice and OP's choice. <see what I did there... :)

How's the quality on this rep (accuracy, movement)? I was just about to pull the trigger on the 089 and then I came across this. Absolutely stunning! now I gotta go back to the scrap book and weigh up the pros and cons of the 089 and 531 lol..

Wow. I am a little stunned and saddened about this. After reading a lot of good things about the top half of this rep, it looks like the rep isn't actually even close because of the dial. Does this positioning preclude us from ever seeing a super-from-the-top rep of this? Quite disheartening, actually.

EDIT:

Nevermind. Looking at the reps now. I didn't realize the one was a photoshop.

And I agree. It does look better how you have laid it out.

Looks like people are still confused. If I understand correctly, the complaint is that gen running seconds @9 subdial placement is off on the GEN. I agree that it looks poor, but the reason I don't like it is because El-Cheapo 21J reps have a similar subdial placement. If I hadn't been so familiar with reps it wouldn't have bothered me;)

Can't remember where I saw it but someone said they compared to the gen in front of them and it was in their opinion, spot on. Besides rep movement of course.

Here are a few more photos to show how hideously ugly this watch is. KW 531. Blows my KW 359 out of the water.

Guess that ticks the accuracy box then. In terms of movement what I meant was what movement the 531 is using (7750 or ST2555?) and whether it has a working GMT function? I was told that the 7750 movement is more reliable movement in terms of GMT function as it has a GMT drive. Not sure about the ST2555.

Back to the original topic... I'm with the OP on this. The position of the seconds subdial @9, if placed further far left as shown in the OP would make the 531 even nicer. However, as this is the gen design, only chance of that happening would be a fantasy build. Still.. I think it is an absolutely stunning piece and if someone could confirm my queries on the GMT function, I might just pick this over the 089.
