GEN PAM- Light Ring?

Hey guys, I was under the impression that one of the tells of the rep PAM crystal was the presence of a 'light ring' on the dial.

Then I saw this on TRF:

So is this an occurrence on GEN PAM's too? Or is my understanding of the light ring incorrect?

Not that I'm an expert, but I think this would occur on any watch with a domed crystal under certain light conditions, especially more possible if it doesn't have an AR coating which that one doesn't look like it does.

I might be completely wrong though!

I just keep hearing how the rep crystal isn't anywhere close to the gen. I really want to know what the difference is, and from what I read the "light ring" is a tell...perhaps my understanding of light ring is wrong?

Only thing I can think of is on my cheapo 111h I can see one, sometimes two, concentric circles (rings) in the mineral glass crystal, depending on how light hits it. It is NOT present on my 088, which is a higher quality with (presumably) sapphire.
