Gen Pam 063 AR or not?

Hi Guys,

I was discussing with a member at another forum about whether or not to AR the crystal on my 063. He thought that the original 063 did not come with AR. Does anyone know for sure?

I have always been told no AR on the 63 and 29.

I was told the same thing, but i thought it was beacuse the AR can look alittle weird when the cyclops is placed. I am not sure if this is true or not.

There's also a debate that used to go on 'that other forum' for some time re 063 coming with A/R or not.

Considering the fact the 1st 063 was released around 2000 in C-series (the year Panerai introduced A/R on their crystals) it could well be that there were few old non-A/R crystals left over from B-series they simply re-used in 2000, hence the 063's without A/R.

I'd say they should come A/R coated, but you can never say with 100% certainty when it comes all things Panerai, especially not during the 'transitional' years.

the owner of my company has a Gen 088 and it does not have A/R. I am assuming the 063 does not.

As Babola said, in effect your fine with either.
I left mine without..
Felt is was more true for me.

I may be one of the rare folks who has had the chance to compare his 063 side-by-side with the gen. Mine had no AR, and it was SPOT on with the gen 063. Really, following all the mods I had done, the only visible difference was the slightly longer hands on the rep. Now, not to get too far afield, but the length of the hands is due to the location of the printing on the dial NOT the length of the hands. How do I know? My 63 has gen hands.

But, to the AR, if you go without, no one will be the wiser. And it'll cost you less money!
