Hi guys, I'm about to put my money on a rep PAM 005 but i'm confused at some of the differences in lume color for this model.

Some 1:1 rep uses a mix of c1+c3, while the noob ones are using c3 lume.
After reading a bit on the lume, is it safe to assume that the c3 lume would look a bit greenish/yellowish as compared to the c1+c3 lume under direct sunlight?

Which one do you think look more to a gen? I am tending towards the C1+C3 mix as it looks more "white". Help me decide! The pure C3 ones are about $20-$30 more expensive.

Hey Luth how's about not being an asshole and helping the guy out? Good to see a 3500 post count is full of good useful wisdom not snarky useless comments.

OP: do you really need to relume? Would it be easier to just buy a hfac dial? These have amazing lume and are the most gen like as far as print and lume application.

Some one please feel free to correct me if wrong... Just tryin to help out

I don't intend to re-lume(doubt my local watch smitch is capable of doing that as well). This is only worn during the day, as a daily beater maybe.

pure c3 is very bright. but has a green tint under daylight.

C1 and c3 would even it out. I believe that gen is more the combo.

Believe me, no one look and no one care at your lume whether its charged or not,
its my personal experience after getting pam,
especially if those are claimed to be super rep such as 111v3, 005 latest version, 112N,
and so on.

my suggestion, as long u getting those recognized as super rep.
u won't dissapointed.

My brother had a gen one and the lume color really bugs me a lot. I've tried the real deal on my wrist on a number of occasion and from what i remember the lume color isn't greenish tint but more of a pure white color. I really don't care how it glows in the dark tbh.

If you are talking about PAM 183 O-series is greenish lume with creamy inscriptions (nice combo)
KW version is almost perfect at this regard

No, read PAM GUIDE Section 4
OP is case number: 0000 means nothing
BB is serial number: 00000000 is an impossible number because the number is increasing with every watch produced and is different for all Panerai watches.
And there is a production number starting with a letter indicating the year of production the number of the watch and the total of watches of that year.

For example: K 0450/1500
K= year 2008
Total watches produced in 2008 of the model = 1500
The watch is the number 450 of this total production of 1500 in 2008

If your watch has not this production and year number is not a good modern replica from a good maker.

There were several 183H, some of them without production number but very good too.
Anyway as you can see in PAM GUIDE there were many claims about these H-series
