Gen or Rep Rubber Strap

So I'm getting ready to pull the trigger on a gen rubber diver's strap (with the little notches for the band). My question is it worth spending the $100 for the gen, or be happy with the rep thin rubber version or the thick rubber version? (I've beaten the hell out of my thick strap and is now falling apart)
Is there an appreciable difference between rep or gen rubber straps? Or should I save my money?

I'd say go with the gen strap for sure. ALL of the rep rubber straps that I've seen, regardless of brand, have been very lacking.

i definitely agree with hool here. the gen rubber is affordable enough to buy... just go for it.

I own the gen (tang buckle) and it is a great strap and the one I prefer. However the ultimate deployant strap from Puretime, which I also own is an extremely close second. The Paneristi site is a good place to find genuine rubber straps at less that retail.

Go for Ultimate Deployant rubber strap. It's mounted on my 252GMT and some recent 186 has it too. Very nice, scented, doesn't attract dust. Big quality difference that older rubber strap.

I just ordered one off of Paneristi for $100, it's the newer style with the notches for the band holder. I'll load some pics of it with my DSN when it arrives. I'm starting to shy away from quantity and going for quality, I'd rather have one outstanding watch with a kickass band, rather than two or three average noob quality watches.
