Hello,

A person wants to sell me this panerai, I want to know if it is a Gen or Rep. Would really appreciate your help.

No box, no paper, probably a rep.

If they askes for 5k, ask them how about 200, and observe their reaction.

Look at the crown guard, there is a gap between it and the case. Gen don't have that feature.

Oh yeah the Dw is so off, the price of the watch is probably about 30 bucks, or at least that's how much I would pay for it.

Agree with earlier assessments Its a poor rep probably 3 or more years old and worth $60...

Where did he contact you to sell It? If its anywhere like eBay, I would report him as a seller

No, the guy came and showed me the watch in person. Since I'm not experienced in reps yet, I consulted you guys. I had my red flags because the chrono had a fault and the clasp didn't feel right, just wanted to confirm [emoji1]

Ask him to meet you at an Authorised Dealer to authenticate it. Go as far as to say you'll pay him right there after it gets cleared by the dealer. Watch this jackass make up an excuse as to why he can't do that and then call him out on it being a shitty rep

How did he know to that you were looking for a Panerai that he would just come up to you and offer you that poor fake?

Hey, I have a business of buying and selling watches and jewelry and have ads all over social media in my country. I usually handle more Rolex, omega, Tag. and very few panerai watches because they are not popular in my country. Noted some red flags when I saw it and posted this thread to confirm it with you guys. I'm new to the Rep world.

Would not really call someone with more than one year residency here "new". You might have joined the forum to prevent being scammed into buying fakes/reps. I suggest reading up on Panerai as they have become popular and a lot of models can be bought second hand for lower than retail. The link in my sig to the PAM Reference Guide is a good start. ;)

Thanks Mysterio. No, I really got Interested because a year ago I started to see Phil's reviews on YouTube, did some research, found RWI and joined. I consider myself "new" because I started reading daily, posting, just a few months ago and don't understand/know many things yet. Not for Business purposes, I really enjoy this forum and the posts each member makes. RWI makes me be more passionate about watches each day.

Well you are also correct in this regard. Passion for replicas is passion for watches (irregardless of what gen purists might say). ;)
