Hello. Yes, it is often fashionable to meet such bezels. This is wrong, it shouldn't be. Either someone does this on purpose, because he likes it, for one reason or another, or this is not a correct assembly after polishing.

In general, I propose to treat this in the same way as models with inverted CG for some reason. There are always enough such GENs on sale.

...and the watch salesmen told me a couple hours ago that the watch is 100% original! hehe

Do you think the watch has been polished?

In the photo at the link, I do not see any traces of the fact that the watch was clearly updated with a finish.

Thanks for your input. When I inspected the watch at the shop it looked brand new.

I'm not going to guess how it happened, but I definitely wouldn't buy a watch with these marks without a very significant discount.

The PAM1024 itself is a good classic model, with a rather interesting OP.XXX , and I can't be 100% sure, but they seem to have been discontinued (even if some ADs have leftover watches).

In general, I consider them a good choice for their price, despite the fact that I appreciate T dials more.

I remember your message about the T dials in the other thread I made a few weeks back, and now I am seriously considering a 001 or similar T dial.

Yes, I agree, they will need to bring the price down substantially before I buy this 1024 from them.

I also tried on a 1229 at the Panerai boutique in Madrid - extremely nice looking 44mm sub!!!

I agree, about PAM1229, but we must admit that this is a different price category.
Only your choice, whether it is that.

I stopped into this shop yesterday and noticed the markers on the bezel are rotated. Anybody ever seen anything like this before?

The markers on the gen bezel are bolted so no problem putting them back in the right position :)

Wow! Good to know! But how do you get the bezel off without leaving marks? I tried to do this once on a rep and ended up marking the metal...
