I have recently gathered a couple of reps all for different reason but a majority of my watches are Black-faced with S/S bands or Black Leather.
Typically I lean towards sportier looking watches.
I have currently
Tag Grand Carrera 36
Breitling SOSH
Breitling Navitimer black face with numerals
Breitling Avenger

Well I notice many are into Panerai and I havent really understood why. Im 26 and that brand just kind of bored me I always thought it was plain.
Untill... I read the 26page post on the PAM KW 417.

I am weird into little things and I love that torpedo. Much like my ESQ has an airplane on the face.

I am thinking of pulling the trigger it would be my first PAM and not only that one of my first brown themed watch. What do you Panerai lovers think. Or what would your suggestions be.

Until you have one on your wrist, you won't get the attraction. I didn't, but now I wear nothing but my 177 all the time.

The KW 417 is quite nice. You'll like it.

Another choice for a first PAM is the Noob 111V3. Another good one.

Yep, 111.
417 has no charm of sandwich dial.
Torpedo? Is it a reason???

Yeah, I used to be a Rolex/Omega/Breitling guy. My buisness partner who is Italian kept trying to get me into Pam's but i never saw the appeal. They looked too simple compared to my other watches. I joined this community years ago to buy a pam rep just to see if i could get into it. I bought the busiest looking one i could find. I bought the 196 chronograph with an ETA7753. I was hooked. I ended up buying the gen 88 and then base. I eventually sold both watches to fund other watches but the Pam bug kept pulling me back. Now I have a rep 183g and a KW312 coming. These reps have come a long way in a few years. Bottom line, try one and you'll understand. If you're like me get a Pam that offers more than an hour and minute hand to get started. Maybe a Pam 243 our the new KW312. I like the simplicity of the Panerai dial, the large numbers and markers, the LUME, but i need a second hand and date. I guess I'm a little ocd.

I am talking with my TD Sead about the 111V3 as well. Its just a nice classic looking watch and I love the case.

Not for any particular reason. Mainly because it is something different not so generic. I am still debating but with the brown and gold dials I really like this watch the more I look at it.

I personally did not like Pam's to begin with neither.
My weapons of choice were the Rollie gmts, omega speed masters and then evolved to bell ross to stand out from the usual to iwc pilots and Pams.
These are soo versatile
Change the strap to make it sporty, casual, dressy, everything in between.

Try it out!!

The simple dial is something that definitely will grow on u

They all look the same to most people but man......they are all so very different and unique.

Good luck!!

PAMs wear like no others. They are big but not silly. I started off with Canal street PAMs reps about 10 year ago as a test drive and ended up own 2 gens. They are, indeed something rather special.
