Background
My previous experience with watches has been cheap quartzes, a broken Tissot, and multiple CBP Casios in the army.
Recently though, my brother has gotten me into watches (he has an IWC) and after some considerable research I decided I needed a practical gen watch (I have my first rep along the way). No more smartphone time for me.. lol..

Anyways I decided to purchase this Gold/Black 30th Anniversary G-Shock and got a pretty good deal at 720SGD i.e. 589USD (a.o. 6/1/13). Amazon retailing it at 850USD.
*originally I was gonna go for the GW-A1000 but the G-Shock store in town fortunately had one of these in stock and at a special price! Thus I decided to up my game, and I'm soooo glad I did.

Pros n Cons
Pros:
  • Looks BADASS.
  • I can chainsaw trees with this watch on my wrist.
  • Gold ion coated. o_O lol..
  • Solar Powered. It's gonna last ForEEEEHHHHver.
  • Annual Calendar till 2099. Day of the week, Day of the month disp.
  • World time: 29 cities (29 time zones, daylight saving time automatic settings) + UTC (coordinated time) time display home time city replacement, UTC direct call abilit
  • Automatic Time calibration signal reception (MULTIBAND 6) // CN, JAP, EU, US. i.e. I pretty much don't need to set my watch at most of the places I travel to.
  • 20BAR.
Cons
  • Complicated functions
  • Low lume
  • Plasticky crown

More personal opinion
Aside from the cons esp. not being particularly bothered to actually learn the multiple auxiliary functions e.g. how to set the alarm, check the thermometer etc. I really love this watch.
It feels great on my wrist, looks pretty badass, and the action of changing the time zones is awesome.

Anyway enough with the chit chat..
Let's get down to JUICY TIME

Badass watch. I have the similar looking Aviation series and it's one of my favorites. I love these case styles

Wow it's great! Love all the extra anniversary features on it, especially all the stars on the buckle and logo on the caseback. It's a fun and cool watch, and you'd wonder when it will ever die, can probably hand it down!

Didn't know Gshocks got that cool. Thanks for the pics.

Nice!!! Your box is so much nicer than mine :(

Is it true that for each 30th anniversary model, they have limited to 200 pieces per model?

Here mine direct from Japan...hello!
