From Rolex to PAMs... DSN 229? From Who?

I have been bitten by the PAM fever. I never understood PAMs until someone posted a picture of a DSN 229... I need one in my life now, haha. I saw the huge differences between DSN, Ultimate, and GEN. Definitely want the DSN version as it seems to be the most accurate and a good base to franken. Thoughts?

Hey ceoCorona, welcome to your new addiction. :)

Any of the PAM229 replicas from DSN and other dealers are of good quality. You won't go wrong with choosing any of them but since you are set on getting from DSN then by all means go ahead. :D

For more information on the PAM229 and other PAMs, please take time to read ALE's Reference PAM Review Guide. After that, should you have other questions, feel free to post.

Agree. I've actually been on that post for a few days now, lol, and of course a few others. I know one thing about PAMs now... and that is that PAMs love different model numbers :)

I appreciate the direction!

Thanks!

So I'm looking for 44mm case size or less. Polished case. No chronograph complications, although the A7753 movement seems promising? I'd love a blue dial or close to that.

I'm a fan of the 112 and obviously the simplicity of the 127. The 229 is also nice. I'm after a blue basically. I know options for those are scarce and limited to some older rep models. I'm most concerned with accuracy of dial color as I can invest time/money to fix CGs, crowns, crystal, lume if need be. Dials I assume are harder to come by given how limited these gen pieces are.

Just the blue colour is the matter. None of these blue reps are made with a gen as sample and the nuances and colour of the gen are not achieved for the replica.
You should forget the blue colour to get accuracy.
The best ones in blue are PAM 326 and PAM 224 (last version Noob 2013), but both are chronos
You have also a nice grey (bluish??) dial with PAM 089

PAM089.... :thud: Now thats a dial with character. Wow. Hmm.. I think I saw this one a few days ago but it was a bad picture. 2nd look netted some MUCH better pictures...

So there are two versions, rather makers, for this watch correct?

Yes it is a dial with a lot of personality
The most accurate and correct version is E-series from H maker.

Since it has a coloured dial you will not get the total accuracy but it seems good enough
Consult PAM GUIDE and you will see some pics an links to reviews.
I have just ordered a PAM089 from Toro with other three PAMs and some other reps.

Stupid question because I know the answer... But I'll ask anyways, haha. So toro sells h factory PAMs? I may just pull the trigger on my first PAM... Wonder how 44mm will look on my wrist. One way to find out!

We have a saying here, buy the dealer then the watch. If you have a preference for a certain dealer, then you can ask the dealer for the watch availability. More often than not, the dealer will be able to source any newly released (< one year old) reps.

Thanks!

Looks good to me, right? Cyclops looks funny just due to focus. Dial is well aligned and lume on hands seems clean.
