Hello all! :D Just finished this beauty until I can find more gen parts!

So far it has the following:

Chieftang Double Sided AR Coating
Genuine Bezel
Ziggy Super Lume
Ziggy Service
Debeer Buffalo 24/20 Strap
Newest Generation Rep Buckle

Here's my want list:
Gen Dial
ETA Date Wheel
Gen Bracelet

But thus far I am very very please with the outcome. The bezel fits well. It keeps excellent time. The lume is superb. The strap is very comfortable! I had a genuine SA for a while and sold it like an idiot. I've been pursuing this watch as a rep for awhile. I aquired the watch from a member at the TRC, superlume and service already complete. Obtained the bezel over the past week. And had the crystal sent off as soon as the watch arrived. Now it will finally get some much needed wrist time!

Comments and recommendations appreciated!

Enjoy the pics!

Cheers! 8)

So far so good BN! That bezel makes a huge difference. That rep dial you have it at least better than the rep SA's that have the chrono avenger dials in them. lol

Getting the gen dial shouldn't be too hard, but the handset  They could prove to be a pita!

Good luck with the project, amazing watch. Anyone who likes huge thick watches with lots of presence, this one is the king.

You could always throw a gen 24mm rubber on there as well.

Just FYI... I don't think the gen handset will fit on an ETA movement... recall reading somewhere that Breits use a different size. Could be wrong though.

Looks great. IMHO I'd do the dial and mebee the bracelet and call it quits.... your gonna be closing in on Gen Dollars pretty quick with a ETA movement etc...

Beautiful watch you've built yourself there.

Great Watch and one of my favourite Breitlings.
Can I ask if this was originally bought from one of our local dealers as the dial is a lot better than normal Super Avenger reps.?

Well done BN. The double AR crystal makes the watch pop. The dial is the biggest issue on the SA reps.

The only thing that bothers me is having a leather strap on watch of that size (especially a thin strap that narrows down to 20mm)

I think a bracelet or rubber strap is the only way to go on such a massive watch.

Bezel also looks awesome compared to the shit on the reps.

Wrist isn't that large. But I wear Long straps so the buckle can be all the way towards the edge of my wrist. More comfortable to me.

Decided to buy only a gen dial if I can find it. I'd like white, as that was the color of the gen I owned. May buy an ETA movement or at least an ETA datewheel.

The watch originally came from Trusty. The dial and hands are different than the ones pictured on the sale thread for the item. I actually acquired from a member over at the TRC who had it superlumed and serviced by Ziggy. Overall the quality is excellent except the bezel was horrendous.

OEM straps are 24/20 with Tang buckle so this is dead on with the gen. The taper isn't bad actually, rather comfortable. I may buy the 24mm rubber but haven't decided just yet. The bracelet would be very nice, but may be rather difficult to find at a decent price.

Thanks for all the kind words guys! 8)

Where would a gen bezle be sourced from, AND AT WHAT PRICE? :)

Ebay for me. I've got around $120 in it. I've seen them go for much less if you are lucky. Just have to catch them when they are available which isn't all the time. Seen two or three in the past week or so.

Wow....I really like that watch.....had the genuine when it came out some years ago but sold it due to the Panny-bug :p

I just ordered a new one (rep of course now) from Ruby......hope the chrystal and its reflection are not that bad.....maybe I have to try the AR coating from chieftang????

For the strap you have to go original....the gen ones are really thick and fit the watch-design perfectly....try it out!

Best wishes,
Theo

Bignasty how hard is it to fit the gen Bezel to this, Is it just a matter of fitting it and screwing all of the screws in.?

Stunning, bignasty, just stunning. I find the contrast between polished steel and brown leather timeless. That AR really pops as genuine, doesn't it? How many people try to poke their fingers in it, I wonder?

"Hey, there's no glass in your watch!"

*plunk*

"OUCH! Oh, there it is."

I also like the little engraved B on the bezel side. Is it that way on the rep, as well?

The newest rep buckle is nice, too. Looks very thick. Can I ask you, it looks like there's darkness in the recesses, is that just camera angle, or is there some dark shading around/in the crevises for contrast?

You GOTTA give us a night lume shot!

BN...this is something I was curious about too...does the gen bezel fit right in or was there any work on your part to make it fit?

Watch looks great, btw. :)

Bignasty pm'd me back when this thread was new. He said it does fit, you just have play with the crews...tighten..loosen,,,tighten,,,loosen etc. until you get it lined up.
The gen bezel's pop up on the bay. There is one on now for 150.00, but I saw one go through the auction process for about 95.00.
