Good friend of mine have asked me if i could build him a watch starting from a Sonic Daytona Skeleton, said to him why not, let’s try, first when received the watch was quite surprise by the good overhaul looking watch, the one he bought was the Barrichelo one,

here’s pic of the movement dismantle, with some original parts going to be use for, lubrification of the movement was really good and a good surprise

Have read by there that skeleton job is amazing on this one, but compared to others i could have the chance to build, following picture, the openwork is quite poor, especially back of movement, don’t even talk about finishing job that is not existent, but don’t have to forget that is 1200 bucks watch, so regarding this fact is finally good, here’s a pic of an original one i did, just to compare there openwork job

Back parts of the movement are less open, or more badly, like chrono bridge, barrel bridge, making a difference even when looking front side of the watch, but like said previously is not the same price.

Will post later today’s following pics and final result of this built

Here is timegrapher of the watch when received it, my friend have previously asked to a watchmaker install original balance bridge and balance wheel, pallet fork, but seems something going wrong with, at this moment have a little idea why about, and another pic how was looking initially the watch.

So here’s what i did on and found
what supposed to be an original newer pallet fork was not, compared the one in its movement that was not changed by a stock original one

change the escape wheel too, when you fit original balance wheel, you have to change incablocs main plate by original one, rep ones not exactly same than genuine, pallet fork too, escape wheel and incabloc escape too, like this all could work properly without any bad surprise, by past i did some without changing incablocs, pallet, escape wheel, sometimes working most of time nope, technically original parts have to work with others original parts, even if you couldn’t spot differences, they are and could made the movement working badly like this one when not swap rest of necessary parts, when you want to go gen balance wheel you must have to change rest of parts that are working with, if not you may have technical working problems with

Escape wheel rep/gen

Incabloc balance wheel and escape wheel installed too, rep balance one just to compare

Have no other choice than to change it, change rep barrel by original skeleton one and mainspring by original one too, setting level , finished minute wheel bridge for a better looking

Beautiful master piece!

But then it took a few seconds for me to sort out what time it is when I look at the watch. So, not for me I guess.
