There's a niche amongst us that favours the smaller watch, and within that niche there are those of us who have been looking for the elusive 35.6mm Aquanaut (i.e. it's original size). In recent years this has only been available with a diamond bezel. I have asked every TD for a non-diamond JJF or PPF version and they simply aren't available anymore. One day I was fcking around on Alibaba when something caught my eye. A Ladies Aquanaut without diamonds, quartz movement (per gen), case and dial looked decent, clasp looked correct for the 5064A. The datewheel font is wrong but it's very small and it is what it is - if this kills it for you, so be it. The price? $85 or so.
I ordered one, given the price it was worth the risk. I asked the seller to send QC photos before shipping, which they "forgot" to do. Immediately I'm expecting a bait and switch as there are some shitters of this watch available on DHGate etc. But lo and behold, a Christmas miracle, the watch displayed in the product photos actually showed up in the mail today. Looks good and nice and thin - 8.5mm thick in the calipers compared to "8mm" as quoted online for the gen of this model. The strap is nice and supple/soft unlike Aquanaut shitter straps which can be pretty stiff.
Overall, if you want a small Aquanaut but don't want to wait for an RWI member to sell their top-tier factory model, this is currently the best and only way to go.
