HI.
Its probably been discussed already... but let me ask: why nobody and nowhere can supply Fortis replicas?

Also, much of what is repped are the more expensive gens. Fortis is generally pretty good value for the money compared to say IWC/AP/Rolex.

In almost 10 years on the rep forums you are probably only the second member I have ever seen ask about Fortis. They just aren’t popular enough to warrant any type of investment in their production.

For the cost of three or four reps you can buy a gently used Fortis, depending on the reference.

The rep buying demographic largely is unaware of this fine brand, is my expectation. I say this as a Fortis owner.

Not many people know about Fortis. Similar situation with Damasko, Muhle Glashutte, Hanhart and less so with Sinn, but rep Sinns are complete shit.

Imho these are the brands which are really worth buying in gen - incredibly well made, original and off the big radars. You're not paying a huge markup for Swiss bullshit, sponsorship and advertising. These are real watches, made by real watchmakers.

You've left Stowa out! One of the only original Flieger manufacturers still around! All made to order watches, right in Germany.

I did! but I don't really feel anything for Stowa - I find them quite soul-less and I don't think Jörg bought much to the brand (though I did like his own brand watches...) I think he completely ballsed up their logo with the crappy new one - the original was just so 30's and I loved it.

I also missed out Laco - same reason - I think they're just a bit boring.

That being said look at this!

A real pilots watch, from a real pilots watch manufacturer - for less than the price of a fake sub...

I have two Stowas. Excellent value, IMHO.

I am not a German national so the brand's purity is irrelevant.

I respect Jorg as a businessman.

Laco has a problem among some purists, too.

I used to own a Hanhart rep. WTF?

Each to their own but Stowa does nothing for me. The classic 'staple' models are just 'OK'.

I was contemplating the brand when Jörg was producing the new Testaff model, which I just never liked, and changing the branding - and I really think the latter was a big mis-step. This would have been around 2013.
