Flimsy rubber strap needs replacement...

Hi,

So this is my first post on the forum....already have a few great additions to my collection as a result of browsing this board. Anyhow...

I received an Arktos GMT from Timeshops and the rubber strap it came with is pretty flimsy. A few years back I had another replica PAM and the rubber strap was pretty hard and thick. I'm trying to find some dealer which will have the nice rubber strap for my new PAM and replace the flimsy thing that came with it.
My concern is that from the pictures, it's pretty hard to tell exactly how the strap is going to feel. The ones I have seen so far are all look just like the strap on my watch now.

Anyone have any suggestions of places I can get a good, sturdy rubber strap for my new PAM? Obviously paying $250 for the genuine thing isn't an option...

Thanks,

Roman

Look for a used gen rubber strap. You can find them on Paneristi.com or maybe TimeZone.com for ~$100. The rep rubber straps don't even come close, IMO.

If you want a quality rubber unbranded strap, give this one a look:

That's a good idea but I paid around $100 for the watch so would like to pay in the $20-40 range for a strap. I'm actually thinking of buying a Panerai box and just getting the rubber strap that comes with it out. I honestly think that it's just my rep that came with this crappy strap...the rest of them look pretty good to me.
Maybe I'll contact Mark and see if he has some good straps for sale...

Thanks for your idea though.....

Unfortunately the chances of finding a decent 24mm rubber strap under $100 is pretty unlikely.
I was going to suggest the Ted Su dive strap/buckle. But that would cost you $130. I have two of them and they are the best dive straps on the market IMHO.

Hi,

I recently bought a PAM 243 from T4D, which came with a very weak rubber strap.
I replaced it with a Toshi strap, but he's based in London which probably isn't an option for you. (Although he does ship to the US)...www.toshi-straps.co.uk

His quality of straps is excellent and prices are good too.

Alternatively, you have http://www.panatime.com who do a vast selection of straps for Panerai and all their prices are in dollars so I assume it's a US site.

Good luck and post pics afterwards!

I have never really liked Panerais but it grew on me lol...I ended up purchasing 2 subs from DSN. Have tried several straps (OEM, Rep band, Real Crocodile) Trust me I have gotten real expensive ones from Panatime, Strap Culture...etc to finally settle and very happy with the rep rubber bad it came with. You see the truth is that strap is very close to the genuine. The softer it is the more easily it will attract dust but is very comfy. The harder it gets be it rep or gen the less comfy it is and does not attract dust as much. Save your money and enjoy the watch
My 2 cents
