ive heard lots of theorys from glue to wrapping dentelfloss under it, but has anyone tightened their ultimate SA bezel so it feels more like a gen? This is the only fault on mine that bugs me. Bezel is kinda loose. obviously the screws do nothing.. any good ideas?

i had a great idea but haven't had a chance to try it yet.
How do you think using one of those dental elastics would work? (The really small ones for braces). if too small maybe another type of elastic that's not too thick? =T

Can you pop the bezel off?
could you take pics of it on - some shots of the sides -
and if the bezel can come off.. could you do it and take some pics of the underside of the bezel and the watch where the bezel goes on.
I think pics would let the imagination flow.

:D

*GASP!* (Rollie Guy infiltrating the Breitling area to post!)

...I would like to know about this too, but not for the SA, and just for my GMT-IIc.
It´s my second one, and the first one had an tight bezel with solid clicks, but this second one is a little loose as you said your SA is.

I heard the construction structure of the GMT-IIc bezels is different from the other Rollies now (bi-directional and with less clicks) So I´m relutant to stick a blade between the bezel and the watch and try to pop it out.

Gonna ask the mod experts around too, but I haven´t seen any GMT-IIc disassembled yet by anyone.

Cheers,
Spirit.

oo have another great idea.
if the dental elastic doesn't work try dental floss

haha I know he's already mentioned dental floss, but i'm not talking about the wax kind. I was thinking the spongy special kind people use for their braces. I'm thinking it'll work better than regular dental floss (which acctually works pretty well!)

no the bezel does not come off without destroying it.

Dental elastics sounds like a very good idea!

I tried wrapping dental floss under my Steelfish bezel. Makes no difference but at least it smells minty fresh now :)

How about an old caseback gasket, try different sizes till you get the desired effect... :)

Hhhmmm. It may be totally different than the SA, but I had no trouble getting the bezel off my Steelfish. Originally,it was loose as you guys are saying and I tried wrapping dental floss around it but that didn't seem to do anything but It seemed even looser afterward. I popped the bezel off with a knife blade and looked at it. Took the spring off and put it back in the little groove where it belonged and popped it back on. I had to turn it slowly as I pushed it to get it to click into place. Now it's much better and tighter.

My theory is that the spring wire was partially out of the groove and when I pulled dental floss around it, it pulled the spring all the way out of the groove where it was sitting below the bezel. That's probably why it came off so easy. The details are just a theory but with the spring in the correct little groove, it's much tighter and smoother.

No guarantees, but that's what worked for me.

I would assume what KBH say is the right way to fix it. The watches come all out of the same factory and it is an assembly problem.

My guess is that with some watches, tightening the bezel would be impossible. Its more a product of bad design than a defective or fixable problem.
