Greetings,

I thought I'd share with you all the upgrades that I have had done to my BP polar explorer 2 16570. They are definitely modest upgrades compared to some projects here but I'm happy with the result.

My dad has the gen of this watch and I was so happy when I stumbled across a BP polar for sale m2m a while ago. It's a nice watch but unfortunately held next to the gen the flaws were glaring obvious.
I have an old school noob 16570 black dial that is much more accurate to gen but I really like the polar dial.

Firstly the date mag window looked terrible, the dial height on these BP's is wrong so it's difficult to get it accurate, I ordered a 1.8mm thick Clarks crystal with AR & LEC with a 2.5mm gasket to reduce the crystal height (stock BP was 3mm!) This has helped with the date mag window.
The bezel was the next big flaw so replaced with a good condition gen bezel, the font and arrow placement is now correct and the radial brushing is far superior on the gen to the rep bezel.
The crown guards were the last thing that was really bothering me, and unfortunately the crown on these BP's sits low so it is difficult to get it looking good, definitely a huge improvement though.

A big thanks to @ado213 for his meticulous work. A pleasure sir.

Here are some before pics and some next to the gen-

Trimming those crown guards looks great- 100% improvement. So many of these reps would look better with a cg trim!
That over magnification of the date wouldn't bother me- I can't see w/o reading glasses anyway.

Looks great! Congrats for the “new” watch!

Would you mind sharing how much you spent on your first modding project?
