I recently purchased a PAM111h from ReplicaMake, and am waiting for its arrival. In the meantime, I am planning on modifying certain things, in particular, the AR coating.

Can someone please point me to the right direction for a DIY on how to remove the glass? Does it just pop off once i unscrew the back glass and remove the movement?

I am planning on doing the SPF45 scrub to remove the AR from the back, and see where it goes from there. Furthermore, I don't know if anyone has tried this, but I am looking to see if automotive compound or polish with a microfiber towel would do the trick? I am curious as to how a "light" polishers such as Meguiar's Scratch X would do. If not, even possibly claybarring the glass may work.

If the crystal is sapphire, try lightly scrubbing with a Scotchbrite pad, then finishing with a Cape Cod cloth. If the crystal is mineral, I wouldn't recommend trying to remove the AR. They're too easy to scratch. But perhaps others have had success with a method I don't know about.

You can pop the crystal out with your thumbs once the movement is out. But unless you have a crystal press, you may screw up the gasket when replacing it. Harbor freight sells a press for $13.

According to the website description, it is indeed sapphire crystal, so I'll give the scotchbrite method a go. Thank you for the advice!

I was watching Rambo 4, Sly is a big fan of Panerai, you can see the blue AR tint when the watch face catches the light. I have a 111h, was thinking of removing the AR, think i'll leave it on if its good enough for John Rambo its good enough for me.

from what I've been reading, the blueish tint is from older Panerai models.

Totally unrelated, Crazy, but is your user name a reference to you being a fellow percussionist?

The watch has arrived! I can't believe it took less than a week from ordering to delivery to the East Coast of the US!

Everything seems great, in working order. However there's one issue that i am discussing personally with Lay, and would rather keep it off the record of the forums for now.

Here it is:
