So yesterday my first replica watch arrived from Japan.
A Tudor 7928 Submariner. I bought it on a whim, not knowing what I was getting myself into. Been reading up on this specific model and looking at pictures from genuine models.

This one looks pretty OK to my untrained eye. But I do have a lot of questions regarding this watch.
What can you specialists tell me about it?
The bezel is bi-directional, feels a bit scratchy but fairly tight. No free-spinningness. The insert looks wrong. The pip is too bright and the angles on the triangle are blunt.
The dial and hands look slightly aged, the "swiss" marking looks too white, although the "TU" and "yster-" bits are exactly as white as the "swiss" marking.
The lume looks a bit too crisp.
Can't say anything about the crown or caseback. Movement, apart from the "tudor" mark has no other signs of numbers etc...

How would you rate this replica in terms of quality? What would you change about it? Are you folks able to give me any clues about it's origin? Aparantly there are a lot of manufacturers making cases and parts for it...

Anyways... Time for some pictures.

cheers!

I have a genuine 7928 so know this model well. As you know its 100% fake so as long as there is no misunderstanding between you and seller. Japan sellers tend to be pretty decent but i'm seeing alot of these fake Tudors hit the market - most of these are sourced from Vietnam.

Some comments:

1) Case is meant to mimic the PCG version of the Tudor 7928. Look up the acronym to understand what it means.Correct style dial for that era except they are usually gilt print with either gilt text or silver text. This is just a matte dial with printing on top. Doesn't quite look right but its okay. Missing the circular lume borders around the plot. They are clearly trying to mimic the "gilt" but falls short. The text itself is okay but one obvious tell in the printing confirms its 100% fake.

The engraving isn't quite right either and the serial is way off vs. the PCG era.

2) Movement completely wrong - the 7928 used a Tudor 390 which looks nothing like this. The movement in here is for the later submariner eras but the movement itself is fake.

3) Crown is too fat - fake obviously. Bezel looks wrong too and the lume pip is wrong - shouldn't have metal surrounds for a vintage piece.the vintage ones are meant to turn both ways.

All in all, I hope you didn't pay too much for it. I have seen the Japanese seller ask for $200-3000K for these. I hope you paid no where close to that.

Frankly the trusted sellers here sell a decent 7928 rep for like $200 which looks okay...
