First Rep, Success Story

Hi all,

Posting my story for the benefit of a community that helped me as a noob to this game and to publicly acknowledge the net positive experience I had with Trusty Time.

First, some really important lessons that were critical to the success of my experience:

1. It should go without saying, only buy from a TD, and only get their updated contact details from RWI, not a general internet search or old post/link.
2. You need nearly infinite patience to play this game, probably as much as you need to buy a gen Rolex, if you're impatient then rep watches (or a gen Rolex) are not for you.
3. Read, read, read, and then read some more. I must have read 30+ multi-page threads here on RWI to build my understanding and confidence before I purchased.
4. Add official email addresses to your spam filter whitelist so you don't miss emails.

I've waited for some time, until the entire transaction was complete, before posting this so I had all of the information at hand. Here is the time line:

• 11/02/22 - Ordered watch+box+papers via official TT web site
• 11/02/22 - Received order confirmation via email
• 11/02/22 - Received payment instruction via email
• 11/02/22 - Paid as per instructions
• 11/02/22 - Received payment confirmation via email
• 14/02/22 - Received status update via email saying QC pictures are 4-12 days away
• 21/02/22 - Received QC pictures (x10)
• 21/02/22 - Confirmed QC pictures and enquired about bonus free strap offered on their website
• 22/02/22 - Received QC confirmation acknowledgement, confirmation watch will be shipped promptly, and promise to follow up on bonus strap
• 06/03/22 - No further communication so I requested an update via email
• 06/03/22 - Received email to promise to chase factory for shipping
• 09/03/22 - Received tracking details
• 23/03/22 - Received watch but no box or bonus strap, watch was exactly as per QC and *very* well packaged
• 23/03/22 - Sent email requesting update on box and strap
• 23/03/22 - Received promise to look into box, confirmation that bonus strap was no longer available
• 31/03/22 - No further communication so I requested an update via email
• 31/03/22 - Received confirmation that box would be shipped soon
• 02/04/22 - Received tracking details for box
• 08/04/22 - Received box, packaging and quality was very good

So, approximately 2 months from start to finish and I'm delighted with what I received. Keeping in mind you need to be patient, the only three opportunities for improving my experience are:

1. The box could/should have been shipped as soon as I made payment, or if not in stock that should have been communicated. Because box does not require QC then no need to delay.
2. The bonus strap is falsely advertised, whilst it does say "while stocks last" there hasn't been stock since Feb and the offer is still on TT website, it needs to be removed.
3. I'm concerned that if I didn't follow up on 06/03 (watch) and 31/03 (box) there may have been further delays (although I don't mind following up).

But that's an acceptable level for me, I could have asked about the bonus strap before paying and I did not (still not an excuse for the offer to still be on the TT web site), and I was prepared to wait overall ~3 months for everything so box delay had no real impact.

The most important factor for me though was that Andrew/TT *always* sent quick email replies (normally less than 2 hours) and that is an enormous confidence builder. I can't overstate the value of this level of communication, especially in a fringe industry, I never lost confidence in TT and the process because I *always* got rapid replies that kept me believing. This is the main reason I will always check with Andrew/TT first when I want a new rep.

Thanks Andrew, that was a very satisfying experience and I'm happy with the transaction, please remove the free strap offer from your website. :bigwink:

Also, a special thanks to RWI and established members and moderators/admins, I think the way you manage this site is also confidence inspiring.
