Got a PAM346 from puretime, out of the box the crown seems messed up. Had the watch for a month now and the issue is getting worst. When I try to wind the watch, the crown screws back in (only get about 1.5-2 turns before it screws all the way in). Sometimes when you're trying to wind the watch, the date changes. It seems to not like to stay in the "watch winding position" and shifts out a little into the date adjust position and the other way into the crown screw down position. From what I read this is a common thing to happen? When you pull the crown out it seems to come out slightly off center, could this be the issue?

Watch in question:

"Asian hand-winding movement decorate to P2002/9 movement"

I live in Australia so it will be hard to ship this back to China, can I get this fixed in Australia? How do I go about finding someone that works on reps, and at that point wouldn't they need specific parts for it that I probably can't get? It sucks because the watch is pretty much unusable, it's really difficult to wind, you have to screw the crown, wind crown about 1.5 tuns then unscrew and repeat, the date ends up changing a few times so you have to reset the date too.

Maybe I'm doing something wrong? this is my first manual wind watch, others are auto. The build quality of this watch is amazing, just wish the crown winding process would be much smother and higher quality.

Thanks for reading!

It's not stripped, just a finicky movement. I have one and it behaves similar. With time you will be able to find the sweet spot.

It also happened to my recent Pam448 that the crown did not wind but keep moving the minute hand. Now I send it back to dealer for exchange.

Hi sundrk, this is not a general fix but just from Your description maybe worth a try. I´d open the caseback (kitchen rubberglove) and just loosen by 1 turn (not unscrew) the 2 movement tabs and check the stem visually, maybe wiggle slightly and than retighten the screws.. Maybe the movement was tightened in a 0,2 mm off position and is exerting some sideway pressure on it. I´d do it only because it´s just a 5 or 10 minute thing and may be worth the while.

Hi mrsunshine, the dealer I bought was the local dealer whose I am their regular buyer. Hence I can have their more mercy for such case.
