I finally took the plunge, after much help from this forum, and ordered my first watch from Puretime. Here is a timeline of my purchase so far. I found these timelines from others to be helpful in gauging what was normal/to be expected when making my decision.
January 31, 2025: Placed order #100292555 for a Santos Dumont.
January 31, 2025: Received PayPal request almost immediately, and paid immediately.
February 3, 2025: Received email confirming payment.
February 10, 2025: Received QC photos via email. I was disappointed with what I saw. The gold color on the watch was wrong and really let the whole timepiece down.
February 11, 2025: I replied to the QC email stating that I did not approve, and if I could order another model. Prompt response from Puretime and they were helpful in guiding me through the change I wanted. I switched my order to another Santos model and paid the additional cost (the new one I wanted was $230 extra) via PayPal immediately. This had a new order #100292925. I emailed them to let them know.
February 12, 2025: Via email Puretime says that they will order the new watch and prepare QC asap.
February 16, 2025: I noticed that my online account with Puretime still shows "payment pending" on the second payment, even though it has cleared PayPal and the funds withdrawn from my CC. I also didn't receive a payment confirmation from Puretime like I did after my first order. I email Puretime asking if all if okay.
February 17, 2025: Puretime respond asking to confirm I made my second payment and to send a screenshot of the payment. I did this immediately.
It's now been more than 24hrs since my last communication with Puretime. They had been very responsive so I'm hoping they're just busy. I will say that I'm starting to get a little nervous as I've now sent $538.65 (including 5% PayPal fee) and I'm not clear that my watch has even been ordered.
