12/20/22: Just sent deposit on BP Explorer I 39mm. I guess what's next are QC pictures and video. Steve was quick to respond to my questions through email.
I love playing the "will she notice" game with mine as well I have one on the way and will see how long it takes this time.My wife hasn't even noticed my new watch
In her defense, I have quite a large collection of watches. But I've been wearing it non-stop since it arrived. I thought for sure she would say something about it. She's typically very observant when it comes to details. Once the Everest band I ordered for it arrives she'll probably notice it then since I rarely wear a leather band.
I will say this about the Explorer 1, it's a model for WIS geeks who don't really care if their wristwatches get noticed. Most of the general public are very familiar with the Rolex divers, but not the Explorer.
This particular watch is keeping good time +6 seconds a day. I haven't dismantled, cleaned, reoiled it or regulated it. I'm curious if I can get even better performance out of ths A2824.
She still hasn't given it a second look.I love playing the "will she notice" game with mine as well I have one on the way and will see how long it takes this time.
You can, you just have to become a supporter.Good lord, I wish I could edit posts here.
Idk what it is about leather straps, but I just can’t wear them daily. I only wear them with my dressy watches. All the others are metal. She still hasn't given it a second look.
I put on the leather strap I ordered from Everest bands, and nothing. I thought for sure she would have said something. I guess she thinks it's one of my vintage watches I have with a leather band, that I very rarely wear. I don't know, I'm amazed.
PS: I after I ordered the rep specifically for this leather band, a band that cost almost as much as the watch itself, I now think I prefer the bracelet that came with it. I guess as much as appreciate a nice leather strap on other people's wrists, I'm a metal bracelet kind of guy.
I was already expecting that the Explorer 1 is a nice kind of understatement but hadn't expected that it flies so much under the radar ... very interestingMy wife hasn't even noticed my new watch

Thank you for your support and good feedback, I look forward to serving you againUPDATE:
It's been over a year of owning this watch, and it's held up to a lot of use keeping excellent time. I've very happy with it. It's my only rep, but I'm thinking about buying another.
