. . . but what the hey, I'm new. I've been lurking around here and am very impressed at some of the information and expertise available here. I have a couple of Panerai reps (111,117,232,249 and 253). Yes - I think I have a problem.....

Anyhow, the 111 is what I would call a pretty 'nice' replica but it has a few issues. The short pinion REALLY gets on my nerves and I will have to get this sorted out ASAP. That recessed pinion stares at me all day - like an incurable zit on an otherwise perfect face.

But what has me concerned is when winding, the crown feels like something rubber is resisting the rotation. It also 'clicks' when you wind it - quite violently if that is a word that can be used to describe a clicking sound. I did ask for 'waterproofing works' when I ordered it. I figured maybe there is an additional seal in there that is fouling the mechanism?

I'll have to get some pics up as straps are also an addiction and the 253 is one hell of a cool watch. Thanks for reading / responding and I look forward to hanging around here and learning more.

Cheers!

Hmmm, tough to tell from your description, but it is possible that there is a seal in there getting in the way.

My advice, since you want to get the cannon pin replaced anyway, is send it off to one of our modders to have the cannon pin upgraded and have it serviced at the same time.

Welcome!!!

Thanks guys. Good idea Hooligan, as soon as work out who the modders are I will contact one and ship it off.
