Hi guys

thinking about adding a panerai to my collection, anyone have any suggestions for a must have? I’m toying with the idea of a Pam 111 or a pam 297 to start with :D

111 is the common choice for a first. It's a very good rep, it's relatively cheap and it's the most recognizable model. Get the noob version if you csn.

I shall! Thanks for the advice I saw it was noted as a super rep there :) any opinions on the 297? I like the thought of a steel bracelet first with an option for leathers later. Plus its quite quirky.

OP -- I think you identified two good starting models for any aspiring Panerai enthusiast -- I would say that a Radiomir of some kind is worth looking at as well. It doesn't have the panache of the crown-guarded Luminors, but is a great way to transition into the brand. I like the 572 as a good 45mm option in the user-friendly 1940's fixed-lug case. Wire lugs take a tad more work than some people are willing to manage ... Best of luck in your search!

It's not a spelling flaw (at least the one I'm talking about). It's a slightly bigger gap between the R and the A in PANERAI which makes it looks like PANER AI. You might want to try checking if the PAM183 is still in stock. The PAM613 is also nice and/(but?) not as common.
