So I got my first Pam from Dutchguy2 and I love it!
I've been a fan of the vintage looking Pams for a while, but I always thought they looked to big on the wrist.
I'm not sure what changed but in the past month or so I realized they look just fine on me and started hunting for a pre-a 009 ......
Problem was all the parts to make a pre-a 009.. they're kinda hard to find!
(Not to mention when you add it all up it gets pretty $$)
I saw DSN had a nice 009 rep and was going to get that and source some parts to mod it a little, but I was having trouble finding parts like a FGD dial.
Lo and behold - I saw Dutchguy2 had a modded pre-a 009 for sale!
- Newest DSN 009 case set with the pencil lead color.
(case, case back, CG and crown)
- FGD Dial and Hands, lumed by the The Zigmeister.
- Bigcrown xtal optics are amazing, no AR
- Handmade Tan strap with Pre-V Buckle from Timebandit's.
Sadly it was in the EU and way out of my budget.
I am after all a recent graduate, who still lives off ramen noodles while trying to paying off student loans.
After a couple warm PM's back and forth Dutchguy2 was kind enough to work with me and figure out a good deal for the both of us.
15 days later (fuuu US customs why do you take so long) the watch was here nicely packaged and ready to wear!
The strap made by Uwe (Timebandits) .. mmm feels so soft on the wrist.
I love the colour and the leather smells great!
(its odd I know, but I constantly hold my watch up and smell the strap haha)
The FGD Dial looks different depending on the lighting..
Sometimes solid black, sometimes speckled I tried to capture that with the photos.
It's a very cool effect.. I see now why FGD dials are so $$ haha.
I wish I was better at taking pics... they just don't do justice to how it looks in person.
The vintage yellowing lume looks amazing in person.
It's just slightly recesses under the dial forming a little canyon, like it should be.
It must have been a very difficult effect to create correctly.
Hats off to Ziggy for his ridiculous skill!!
