Hi

My name is Juan and this is my story.

Back in January I was searching the internet looking for nothing in particular and somehow I ended up in this forum.

With no particular taste in watches I encountered Panerai. At first glance I did not like them but I got interested after reading hundreds of posts talking about that unknown to me brand.

I remember there was a topic about the best replica out there and people were talking about the 177L and the 288K. A week later after seeing 1000 pictures I decided to buy one just to try. I was concerned about customs. (I am from Argentina) I was concerned about getting scammed also so I researched for the best dealer out there also.

Once I finished my investigation and having decided to buy a 177L I tried to buy it. How difficult can it be right?

The story starts here. ( Every time you see "" quotes.. it means it is something the dealer told me literally. )

January 8....First issue. Chinese new year. Wow I did not know about that... no dealer was responding and the one I chose was away on vacations.... complete silence.

February 15.... He got back... this is my chance.. I sent the money but I got no response for a week.. My biggest concern was coming a reality... finally I got a response... "I don't have any 177L left. Sorry" " A more accurate 177M is coming"

More accurate? What do you mean? Any details?

Silence....

"I will arrive shortly......"

March 8 .... Silence after 10 follow up emails..

"Sorry, it is not yet available. If you need a refund, please tell me. Thanks"

I wanted the watch, not a refund so I waited.

March 30..... Silence

I was desperate. How difficult can it be?

April 1

"Sorry. PAM 177 not yet in stock.

Now only have PAM 318, 219 :( "

More desperate.. Now I wanted the 177 and only the 177.

April 27

I moved to another apartment so I updated the address

May 6

"Sorry, the PAM 177 still not yet available :( "

May 29

Silence... Nothing. Every time I asked he said shortly.. this time he said "this week"

June 7

Silence.

June 9

"Yes, in stock" Finally................................. :)

June 10..

QC pics look OK

June 14

Tracking number..... Yeah...... oh wait... there is a problem... the address is missing a number.... noooo. Oh my god do something.

Nothing could be done.

June 24

Watch arrived to Argentina but because the address was wrong it could not be delivered.

July 1

Watch is going back to China... I was so tired....

July 5

Watch arrived to the dealer.

July 14

Dealer confirmed he shipped it back but no tracking number.

July 22

"Hi, our shipping company lost the parcel due to post office mistake system. Do you mind if we proceed with another new watch? Sorry for any inconvenience cause "

July 25

QC pics New 177Mv2 Look ok

July 29

Shipped again

August 4

Finally after 8 month of back and forward I got the watch. It is a 177M v2 with croc leather strap and it is beautiful

I do not want to mention the dealer name.. It was not his fault it took so long. He offered me a refund and I did not take it.

Moreover, I am a pain in the ##%&.

What can I say... finally my story came to a happy ending and I want to thank everyone on this forum because while I was waiting for my only watch I learned more about replica watches than what I would never think of. This is my only watch and hopefully it will last long.

I am not a native English speaker so I apologize for any grammar or spelling mistakes.

Thanks for this last 8 months.

I promise to upload pics shortly. (I know)
Juan

It's good you are a patient man! You will do well in this hobby. :)

Actually, your experience was not typical; most transactions do not take quite so long to complete - yet of course, some do.

It's nice to see that you took the delays and setbacks well and persevered. Congratulations, and I'm sure your next rep purchase will not be so long and drawn out.

If i were you, i'd start looking for a second PAM now.

I kid, i kid.

Congrats! And sorry to hear about your bad experience. But it's true, experiences like this are rare.

You have my admiration for all the patience and not naming the dealer.

I would totally have bought more watches in the interim. Enjoy your 177! You deserved it.

This makes me want to know the dealer. While reading this post I kept thinking that sounds like good communication from a dealer.;)

I was in the same situation and i would very much suspect that we share the same dealer. i gave up after months because its just plain bull when the dealer is shipping out those with croc straps even if they just make their order.

F him and i got my refund. Went ahead with the 292 and couldnt be much happier since then...

Having patience for few weeks is fine... mths is just not acceptable.

This is the package I finally received. I felt like a child.

Here is the beauty.. (Terrible pics I know... Iphone 3G is not the best camera out there)

The question now is... If you could only own two watches and one of them is a 177M. Which one should be the second?

Thanks all of you.. This has been a journey.

Not a good idea to post pics of the package... Would be better if you edit and erase them (just the ones of the package... it's better to keep the tricks in secret... ;) )

Awesome watch btw! Congrats and enjoy it!!

Hola Juan

Did you have any issues with customs in Argentina in the end? I live in Argentina and would like to be sure the watch will get through before I confirm the order. What sort of shipping did you go for and how was it packaged?
