Am now practicing the virtue of patience...

Just be careful you don't get it went, their watches have a habit of rusting.

I saw your other thread and hope that you can reach a reasonable resolution with the dealer - perhaps you might wish to engage the help of the mods if all fail.

In any case, thanks for showering your concern for my purchase, but I would indeed appreciate that my thread not be derailed, please. This thread is about my first purchase of a rep - I am journaling my own experience and will be objective when I finally get to receive and review my very first rep purchase.

Meanwhile, I continue practicing the virtue of patience while awaiting QC pics.

Peace out...

Update - Am still practicing virtue of patience but my eagerness got the better of me today. Had dropped an email to ChazingTime to check when I can expect to receive QC pics after awaiting 3 weeks from Chazing's acknowledgement of payment receipt. Am hoping to get a response soon, will here update again!

Update - ChazingTime replied today to inform they are waiting for another piece as the previous one apparently had issues with the movement. Fingers crossed, hope Chazing will receive replacement from VSF soon. Will update again when I eventually receive QC pics..

Update - Chazing replied late last night with QC pics which I only saw this morning! Am generally happy with the pics but am just unsure about some "scruff marks" on the bezel (whether it's dirt or permanent scratches) which I have since replied and sought advice from Alice. New to this game, so not sure if what I have asked about is a fair concern. Attached is the pic - any advice/opinions even admonishments (so I learn) from old timers in this forum are welcomed. Will continue to update on this new journey of mine, cheers!

Here we go again....
Hi, would much appreciate if you could point out how my post might have transgressed - certainly happy to amend or delete my post, if necessary. Am genuinely trying to learn and explore if this may turn out to be a viable new long-term hobby. Cheers!

Don't mind @BMW760
He is the grumpy oldtimer sitting in front of the shop, but has a heart of gold😍

His points are that :
-dozens of first time buyers ask "what do you think of xxx"
-one third will say GL, another third RL and the rest will flame
-it's your decision at the end
-we see exactly the same pic as you
-you already did the right thing by asking Alice about it

welcome and enjoy.
Buy a coffee to the grumpy old timers. They will still be grumpy, but at least they will have coffee

Its dirt.

Its a ceramic insert so almost impossible to scratch.

And dirt on ceramic always looks like scratches for some reason.

Nice choice for a first watch, why did you chose exactly that?

Many thanks, Karbon! I definitely see and do not disagree with the very valid points you highlighted which BMW had in mind with his reply.

Perhaps the more pertinent question I should have raised to the experts here would be: are there any compounds or suggestions to remove such scruff marks? I have a Gen Speedy with hesalite crystal of which scratches are quite easily removed with a compound, which I doubt would work on the bezel in this case (and perhaps even make things worse, lol)

In any case, I'll await Alice's advice and take it from there (think most probably I will GL it). Thanks again, Karbon and BMW, for even bothering to reply. Cheers and peace out ;)

no worries
as Kalev said above, it takes a lot to scratch a ceramic bezel. So I would be surprised if that were scuff marks

Thanks, Kalev.

I have always wanted this model since early 2010s and when it became within my means to get a Gen of that in late 2010s, let's just say I was appalled by the snobbishness of the sales rep I encountered as well as the long wait time when I visited a local AD.

Now, I have zero qualms about wearing a well-built Rep that I like since it's purely for my personal enjoyment - should anyone ask when I wear the piece that I eventually receive, I will be happy to share that it's a Rep. I am now well past the stage where I care about the opinion of those whom judge others by what they wear or drive ;)

Oh cool, in 2010 I was still playing with Legos but a month and a half a go I got a 2010 gen. This generetion of gens were the ones when I started the rep hobby I had all the different versions of reps and was obsessed about. So it was much more special getting finally this version of gen not the newer 12 series.

I also have a gen no date of the 11 series.

VSF nowdays looks so good so I’ve been wondering perhaps get one myself as well just to compare and fiddle around with it and remind myself what they used to be like when I started.

Post a wrist shot once you receive it.

Hi Kalev, you've done very well for yourself, from playing with Legos to being able to collect Gen watches you like in a short 10 odd years! For me, it wasn't until my mid to late 30s that I was able to even contemplate spending on Gen watches...

Sure, will post a pic once I receive the watch. For now, will await Alice's reply before deciding to GL the piece. Cheers

You still owe us proof of your (claimed) rusty Omega in the form of images in your own thread.

So far...

I have replied to twatch2 when he/she posted that "rusty claim" in my thread, respectfully asking that he/she does not derail my thread just to grind his personal axe. So far, no reply from him/her, which is good I guess. Cheers

Yes, I don't think that user will return.

Sorry for essentially also derailing. 😅 🫣
Let's stay on topic, everyone!
