So I have a few gen Panerai that I love and have been eyeing a PAM661 Carbotech for sometime. I just couldn't pull the trigger on the gen so I decided to look into the rep world. It's strange I signed up to these forms awhile back as I was interested in the rep world after a business associate turned me on to quality reps, but never order any. Well the time came and I pulled the trigger on my PAM661 Carbotech. I paid and I received the QC pics 2 days later. They looked perfect to me so I green lit the order. Around 4 days later I received the tracking number and around 8 days after that I received my watch. Andrew made the order process freaking easy and fantastic.
Once I receive my watch all I could say was wow. After holding the gen in my hands a few times, it'll felt identical. The forged carbon was amazing looking, the dial, perfect, watch back perfect, strap....ehhhh was nothing like the original but decent. So I prefer a few gen straps. I also ordered a rubber camo band from Andrew. Unfortunately it does not fit the watch because of how the rep version of this watch is made. They have drilled mock holes on the outside lugs so it'll look like the gen but those holes don't fit spring bar tools, nor go through the lugs. There are regular sipring bar homes on the inside of the lugs. Not sure why they've made then this way but oh well. So I was thrilled with the watch until one day I looked down and the strap was getting ready to fall off.
So I took the strap off my wrist and looked at the lug where the spring bar cane out of and it was cracked, split from the spring bar one hole all the way to the case itself. It almost looked like the forged carbon did not have proper resin impregnation. So I emailed pictures to Andrew straight away and asked how we could fix this unfortunate situation? He asked the obvious questions if the watch was bumped or dropped, it wasn't. And just like that he arranged to get me a new case from his watchmaker. He did this and shipped it out to me in less than 3 weeks ago at no cost. I will only be ordering from Andrew in the future.
Sorry this was super long, but was 1st post and a review on one.
