Being new to the Rep world, I wanted to be cautious about my first purchase. I have been collecting Gens for 30 years and took some gambles when eBay was very new, so I understand the risks involved in purchasing from afar. Thanks to forums like this, I was able to do a lot of research and see other peoples experiences to gauge the risk, time frames, and other variables before buying something. I chose Trusty because of the comments and the website. Then, as I had learned from others, asked questions about availability, selected a watch and made a purchase. QC photos came quickly, and my watch was shipped. Being in Europe, I chose the triangle shipment to the EU, even with the whole Brexit issue. During the shipping time, I had my patience tested, as many of us do. I kept waiting for the dreaded customs letter. But, thanks to creativity, my watch arrived in perfect condition. The journey for shipping took 3 weeks, which was absolutely fine. A couple of things I learned along the way:
1. Do more in depth research about what you want (accuracy, movements, etc.)
2. Read more about payment options and the benefits vs negatives
3. Learn about and feel comfortable with the worst case possibilities
4. Accept that this will be the beginning of another addiction
I have already created a list of my next 5 or so watches, and I feel confident that Trusty will be involved with those purchases. Thanks Andrew!
