Hi, just posted in the new members area, but thought I’d post here too.

After reading many threads on here, and trying to take into account most of the advice I could see, I ordered my first replica last week.

I chose theonewatches and Steve, due to the positive feedback. And I chose a Clean factory Yachtmaster vs a VS factory after watching a YouTube comparison.

Another bit of advice I followed was not using credit card to pay. I also wasn’t a forum member, so didn’t think to ask for paypal. In the end I decided to go for bank transfer, as it felt like it should be pretty secure 🤷

Now I’m trying to follow final piece of advice I’ve seen, which is be patient. The confirmation of payment from Steve is the bit that I’m struggling with and trying my best not to worry.

I paid extra and sent a same day transfer last Wednesday, but still nothing confirmed from Steve. I did ask just once on Friday if received, and did get a quick reply, where I felt like I was getting a bit told off 🙁. I was just told to relax, payment takes time……which I didn’t understand with the payment being same day.

I’ve decided not to ask much more going forward, and just sit back and hope things happen as they should, as per forum advice. Not easy as a first timer though, so I hope that payment confirmation arrives soon! 😂

Getting a bit concerned now. Nearly a week, same day transfer paid, and my bank sent transaction confirmation, which I forwarded to Steve. However he is saying nothing received at his end.

Definitely a disappointing start to my first purchase. 🙁

Also, watch was on website as in stock, which is why I ordered from here. Now he’s saying it’s not, and needs to contact factory 🙁🙁

In fact, it still says “in stock” now, so definitely not up to date. I guess that’s another lesson I’ve learnt. Check stock is actually there before ordering, don’t believe website. 🙁🙁🙁

You need to read up on how the process works. This isn't Amazon.

The TD‘s have hundred of watches on their website. They can‘t update the availability for every single watch, because they werent big companies. Furthermore they have to ask the producing factories for availability too. So you have to ask for every order, if the TD can source your model

I think that’s what I just said. I’ve now realised the error of my ways. Perhaps TD’s shouldn’t have stock availability on their site if it’s never right??

You need to read up on how the process works. This isn't Amazon.

Thanks for stating the obvious. Helpful. I read plenty, although the stock status passed me by admittedly. Why have a stock status at all if it’s never updated? 🤷

I’m less bothered about the stock, as I’m happy to substitute for a VSF watch if the Clean one is a big delay, which is in stock.

What I’m more worried about is Steve saying payment hasn’t been received. I fail to see what I actually did wrong there. I followed tips on here, I emailed Steve confirmation from bank, but him saying nothing is there doesn’t seem right to me. My bank confirmed payment was sent to his.

Hopefully this will be resolved quickly. And I can go back to patiently waiting for the process to move on.

Once again, I suggest you read up on how the process works. You need to educate yourself on how "stock" works with rep factories.

Thanks for the tip again, instead of the slightly condescending message, how about point new member in the right direction for that information. No idea where to start looking for the what does “stock” actually meant guidelines.

I have no issue in asking for actual stock information from the seller, I just didn’t know I had to. As I said, if you have to ask every time, there’s little point in a stock status that they can’t keep up with on their websites.

It's amazing what a bit of searching, reading and effort can accomplish. We all did it when first joining. It is possible to do. That's why the staff has gone through the trouble and effort of pinning stickies in the appropriate sections.
Found plenty, already said I did a lot of reading before I ordered and joined. Just obviously not found everything. I’ve been on plenty of other forums before for other things. My style is to help out others, not patronise as the experienced member. You crack on though.

Perhaps TDs need to redefine what "In Stock" means. It does NOT mean that they have watches in stock, it just means that they can "get one". Is it deceptive ? Of course it is but they ALL do it.

Finally received my watch on the 15th of May. Great quality and generally happy with it.

Unfortunately the quality of the service wasn’t quite as good as it could have been. With it being on the rubber oyster strap, which can’t be adjusted after receipt, I discussed via email my wrist size at least 6 times. The first few times it was just skipped over in the replies. Then finally before posting they responded saying it was the correct size.

It isn‘t the right size when it arrived though, even with the micro adjustment at its maximum, I can only just get it on my wrist, and it’s nipping the skin.

They have responded by saying they’ll send the correct piece of rubber to me, and I’ve said I’ll try and find somewhere to change it over for me. But, this is where it gets frustrating, the whole lengthy process starts again, for one piece of rubber.

Order from factory, told several days to release
QC
Then postage again

I’m sure I’ll enjoy the watch……eventually, but not sure I would go through all this again for another one.

10 days after receipt of watch, still no news on correct strap being sent. Starting to feel like they don’t care, and I now have a watch that is just a $500 ornament that can‘t be worn.

Unbelievable that is takes this long to find a piece of rubber.

I would only order again a watch that can be adjusted, I couldn't have communicated my wrist size more clearly to them, and it was still wrong.
