Hi!
Just made my first order from Geektime pulling the tigger on a Omega spectre VSF.
I know the site isnt a TD, but from what i read about Eric he seems legit.

For my question: how long do you think its acceptable to wait for QC pics?

Hey,

I don‘t have any experience with Geektime, but here‘s some general info regarding the influencing factors:

1. Model availability: not every rep is readily available. So the dealer may have to wait for the next batch to receive from the factory.

2. Order value / workload: if times are busy, this can have a direct impact on the processing time and might cause a delay of several days or weeks.

3. Dealer: not every dealer works this job full time. But if they do, their working hours can differ, as well. Then not every dealer has employees to distribute the work load, so they have to do everything themselves.

4. Defects: It can happen, that the factory delivers a defective unit to the dealer. Then they have to wait for another one. This is especially the case for watches that get ordered in smaller batches.

5. Local holidays: There are certain seasons when dealers and even the factories close down for a while, e.g. Chinese New Year.

As you can see there are many variables, that can affect your wait time (and I‘m pretty sure I forgot many more). However, from personal experience I can say that for „standard“ models like common Rolex reps it takes somewhere between 3 days and 3 weeks for the QC pics to arrive.

One thing I can‘t stress enough is that you should not start penetrating the dealer with messages asking for how long it‘s going to take after a week or two. They generally know what they‘re doing and you can be assured, they are very busy with their operations.

Stay patient and keep your cool. It will most probably be worth the wait :)
