Hey people, I’ve just ordered from TT for the first time on June 11 (order confirmation shows as June 12 presumably because he’s based in Asia) and thought I’d share my experience and review of the process here. I ordered a ZF IWC Portuguese Chrono. I haven’t received the QC pics yet but will update this thread when they come in.

So far Andrew has been very responsive and professional over email. One additional request from me - I did ask him to help keep an eye out for the ‘seconds@6’ issue that’s been known to affect this particular model (because of the Asian 7750 movement). He was receptive and responded right away that he’ll help remind the factory.

I’m happy to report that everything has been positive so far. If this transaction goes smoothly, I have 5 other reps on the list that I want to get my hands on this year. Can’t wait!

Andrew will take care of you. I been ordering many watches from him and all are positive. I just ordered a watch and took a longer wait than normal to get QC photos. Do to all the issues with factories things are taking a bit longer than normal. But just be patient.

June 19 Update:

Andrew emailed me today to tell me that the unit I ordered was out of stock, not available. He asked me to choose a different watch instead. I was quite surprised because Andrew confirmed to me in writing via email on June 11th prior to this transaction that he had checked with the factory and that this watch is available in stock.

So now, I've chosen an alternative/replacement watch as he asked. The new one that I've just chosen costs less than the one in my original order. Andrew said he'll give partial refund (for the price difference).

I'll share another update as this transaction moves forward.

You have to remember that all the TD's use the same factories so at the time Andrew checked it might have been in stock but by the time your payment went thru, another TD scooped it up. With raids putting a serious dent in our hobby the TD's appear to be scrambling for products.

June 22 Update:

It turns out my replacement choice is not available either. It just wasn't meant to be... Andrew said he will issue the refund to me in 24-48 hours. I will post another update here when the refund is received and I consider this transaction closed (or if it's not received as planned...).

While I'm disappointed that I didn't get any of the watches that I wanted, I have to say that Andrew has been very professional and fully responsive in his email communications. I really appreciate not being left hanging in limbo.

That sux. I was in the same boat as you. Every watch I wanted wasnt avaliable. Luckly found a AP form JF that was avaliable. I just sent a list of all the watches I wanted or thought about. All were a no go except 1. But hopefully this gets back to somewhat normal in 6 months to a year.

June 28 Update:

Full refund received as promised - so on that, I can certify that Andrew (Trusty Time) is an honest and honorable seller. He held up his end and I won't be afraid to use him again in the future.

In the end I'm out $10 in total (TransferWise fee). Nothing we can do there and I'm not worried about it. Now my hunt continues for the elusive watch that I wanted.
