First, I have to commend Andrew for the super quick service and great communication. From payment to successful delivery it took 3 weeks total. Total time in transit was 2 weeks. The tracking number provided didn’t work until the package was in the US.
So I received the BP SD4K 116600 with no issues. Upon testing it, everything worked fine but it was running about 30 seconds fast per day. The QC indicated it was +3, so I’m assuming it got jostled around while in transit. So, I popped the back off to regulate it, and that’s when things got a little interesting…
The movement was supposed to be a clone 3135, and according to the photos on his site, it was supposed to have all of the correct markings. Well, what I have in my watch appears to be a very nice and clean version of the 3135, but it is completely sterile. No markings whatsoever. I guess I can’t really fault Andrew for that since he didn’t open the watch during QC. Anyways, here’s the movement:
What do you all think? I was able to bring the timing down to +6 which I’m pretty happy with for now. I’ll probably tweak it more when I have more time.
Should I raise an issue about the movement? Is it really an issue to be concerned with? I am slightly disappointed that it has no markings.
Other than that the watch seems really nice. The dial, crystal, case, crown, alignment all seem very good. The bracelet is decent, but not quite as good as the one on my Sugess Sub homage (that is an amazing watch for the money).
The weakest part of my BP is the clasp, the inner foldovers are nice and the engravings are good, but the overall milling and finishing of the outer clasp is not too wonderful. The spacing between the safety clasp and the sides are uneven and lopsided. It’s serviceable, but I’m looking for an upgraded replacement. The QC pics of the clasp we’re not the greatest, I probably should have asked for additional.
Anyway, that’s my review. Have a great day everybody.
