Hey Roomies...

Here is my first attempt at a "vintage" Panerai strap.

This one is 26/26, 80/175, so it will wrap around like the old school ones.

I built this guy out of a piece of the hide of a bull moose we took last year, and used waxed sinew to tack it. The glue was bought at a leather shop and is an animal product as well, to keep it authentic. It has been worked alot and is super supple.

What do you think?

Before...

After...

Notice how flimsy (supple) it is...

Underside...

HMMMM... interesting...

seeing the kill makes it NOT so sweet, but I'd LOVE to see some shots of it on the watch...

if the kill pic is in bad taste, let me know and i will promptly remove it. i just wanted to show where it came from.

as soon as andrew delivers my vintage i will put it on and post pictures.

Pete, I kid in jest of course, but the first thought after seeing the moose and the strap was...beef jerkey, he made a beef jerkey strap you can eat if you got hungry looking at your pam!

IDK... don't they need moose pop control up North? Which makes this an environmentally responsible thing to do?! Ok, ok, I'll STFU,

Awesome straps anyhow.

ROTFL and getting hungry tooooooo ...............never thought of making my straps edible as part of an emergency survival kit. Wonder if Mike Horn would want one on his Arktos for his next expedition?

maybe we're on to something...we'd better sign an agreement with E to secure rights. Edible pam straps for your next camping/wilderness trek or outdoor adventure.

JCM straps - Not just a watch - a meal.

flashlight: check
tarp: check
flint stone: check
wilderness knife: check
edible strap w watch: check!!!

thanks Enzo...

What a pain in the ass it was to pull that monster out of the bush. I took it at 450yards with my Sako 75 300wby magnum, one shot. Thirty seconds to take it down, 14 hours to pull it out. I am heading out to the "middle of nowhere" canada for easter, I need to bring back a little more leather, and if I have any left, maybe some dry pepperettes.....mmmmm yummmy much better than slim jims.

i know. its brutal. being italian, i help guide a bunch of paisanos that come up every year to hunt the back woods. there is one guy who has a habbit of cutting a piece of the heart and eating it. pretty freaky if you ask me. i just brought back a coil of moose garlic sausage and dry pepperettes. looking forward to eating those.

yummy

It's a good habit. A very old habit. Next time tell him he has to do it for the liver, kidneys etc etc. too if he wants to stick to tradition.
