Finally! I have been scouting for months just to see a VCO in person. Much to my surprise the letter carrier delivered my VCO this morning. Angus (PureTime) and I thought it got lost in the mail. I placed the order on July 19th and today is Sept 4th. China to California in 6 and a 1/2 weeks! Angus was an excellent TD and was working on resending me a new order with QC pics! Wow! I'll be getting more watches from him.

I'm very happy to finally get my hands on a VCO and it will definitely help me determine if I want the gen. So far I really like it a lot. Its 42mm (11mm thick) size fits my 6.5" wrist perfectly. Here are a few quick wristshots but they do not do this watch justice. The watch is pristine and I used my iPhone 4s, but at least it gives you a good idea of how it looks. I'm really surprised that this watch is not a lot more popular on the forums. I really love the DW placement. It's so much easier to read than at the 3 o'clock position. Anyway, it's a beauty. Enjoy;

Does it seem very thin or can it be worn sporty also?

Thanks guys,

I also thought the IWC has similarities.

I removed the back to take a peek at the movement. What do you guys think it is?

Here are some QC pics I originally got from PureTime. The back looks nice. Not as much detail as the gen but very nice.

Looks like a 2824 of some sort, but odd seeing it in nickel instead of gold. Also, hard to tell in your caseback photo but is "anti-magnetic" spelled correctly on this one?

The part we need to see is covered, rotate it and snap another.

Here are a couple more pics of the movement, -one with flash one without. It's suppose to be either Asian 25j or Swiss ETA 25j per the PT website.

Here's another of the case back. Correct spelling but less detail than the gen;

And it is a very sporty looking watch. My wife likes it too. She doesn't really like my reps but she likes this one as a gen. She said it's sporty and classy. It has a solid look to it. The thickness seems just right for my smaller 6.5" wrist. I would feel comfortable heading to our swanky club for a game of tennis with the mucky mucks, or in my suit at work, or in jeans getting my cappuccino in the morning with my dog. :)

Looks like a clone. You bought it on the assumption it was a clone or Swiss ETA? there is definitely a considerable price difference between the two movements.

Swiss 2836-2 movement:

Thanks for the info guys. The Swiss ETA is a $90 up charge and I don't think I ordered it with that so I'm guessing it's the Asian one. But what is that one called? 7750? Or a 2824? Or? I'm not up on these internals yet. This is actually the very first one I opened up :)

BTW that 25j Rolex movement looks way nicer.

Yours is a 2824 clone from the best I can tell by the pics. They normally only use the 7750 movement in chrono's (there are a few exceptions like hublot)

Make sure you keep am eye on the screws and if necessary use Loktite.

I had a big panic trying to find one that fell off in my bed.
