I ordered the Noob version. ZF factory has not been kind to me so far with an IWC big pilot that arrived with the movement not working.

Noob v1, but haven't held the ZF to compare to noob v2. Both look very nice and both are great reps

I know he noob personally looks great and has never had an issue. Came at +/- 5 s/d out of box.

It is a good rep by the looks of it but the best is still the Noob V1. The ZF sapphire bezel is too white like the Noob V2.

I disagree w ZF being too white. There was a post by Angus with gen and ZF bezel only and they looked exactly the same.

That's an unqualified statement. There is no way to tell until you compare them directly side by side with gen. V1 bezel was too green...( and they both look "greener " than real life in this pic)

V2 maybe too light. in either instance, it was so close that you can only tell when you have the watches in hand.
The side by side bezel pics posted by Angus strongly suggest that ZF is very, very close indeed.

as the V1 is generally unavailable and the ZF comes with extra, better screws, screwdrivers, an extra, longer strap and deployment, ZF might be the better choice.
Most ZF complaints seem to be related to their IWC reps..Hopefully the simple 23j movement will be fine...

Having owned V1 V2 and comparing to my friend's gen, my opinion remains the same.

ZF and V2 are good reps though...

owning V1 and gen, and looking at Angus's pic of gen and ZF bezel, taken next to each other at the same time, under the same light in the same picture, so does mine.....

ZF comes with the a2836 movement, so no worries there.

Good! Otherwise it wouldn't even compare. If same movement they are closer at least

Yup, the only difference is the plating color (not that it matters at all). Noob ones were (unless they changed it) equipped w gold plated 2836 movements and the ZF is with non plated (silver) movement

I was turned onto to a thread by a member here regarding ZF quality control after I had issues with the 2 in the 12 being crooked in my QC pics and was told by the TD "For 12, we are sorry it is a commen (sic) issue. We can't fix that" Hoping that after the holidays that we can get things resolved as I did reject the watch but never got a reply. So ZF or Noob? So far it sounds like Noob is the way to go to me if ZF can't seem to get things straight. I went back and looked at all the "glamour" shots someone posted of the ZF BPFF and noticed that there was not a single straight on shot of the watch face, all were angled or partials. Hmmmmm...

There are bunch of pics from some users who already received their watches so I would look at those. Crooked "1" (or misaligned) in "12" marker was a common issue in Noob version as well and I was glad that I hadn't heard about it in the ZF version (until now). I had a similar response from multiple TDs for the noob version that I ordered about 2 months ago(ultimately backed out and didn't buy it) and am waiting on my qc pics of the ZF.

As far as the ZF quality issues go, I think that's a bit of an old and not so true true story at this point. None of my ZF watches caused me trouble so far but almost every Noob I had crapped on me at some point (all issues were related to movement and all were 2836 or 2824...surprisingly the so called "unreliable sa3135" ticked like a charm since day one...). I would simply ask for another watch (again, none of the qc pics I have seen so far had that issue, maybe you got unlucky with yours)
