40MM 5008 no rad/milspec/barakuda already wears like a 38 IMO, or atleast it wears smaller than a sub (big insert)
So this one is gonna feel like a 36/37mm

I hope you mean only the Fifty Fathoms familiy and not all the Blancpain models !

I think the 40mm actually would be the better size. 38mm somehow looks a little... cramped? Can't believe I'm saying that.
