Hi,
Lately got the urge for the "Fiddy".Having done some groundwork on the forums seems Eddies Version 2 is head and shoulders above the rest.Eddies saying no funds to do another batch at the moment and it seems others are in same predicament as me.So I am looking to pointers as to any other versions which are worth a look at and from which dealer? Please show me the way. :( :( :(

Is it perfect? I've been pouring over it looking for flaws as my mineral glass gen 2 fiddy bit the dust. Is there anything on it that needs to go to ziggy to have fixed?

Davidsen is working on a new 1950 rep, I think - might pay to be patient. Haven't seen PT's .. must check that out.

I am being patient. I wear this watch every day, I know I'm asking a lot, but I want one that is as near flawless as possible. Though to date I have only had 2 people even know what a Pannie is, and they both complimented me on my nice fiddy.

Take a look at Trusty or Puretime's new Fiddy has the new genuine ETA movement with a WORKING swan neck regulator and FAT regulator needle just like the genuine. I could tell a rep movement just from that needle, but now it looks perfect!

So some possibilities.Firstly Trusties, anyone know how it would compare to Eddies Version 2?And what would Ziggy need to do to it?Any indication to when Davidsens will hit the market and what quality we could expect?

I just got back from the watchmaker, my 217 ... I had the old crystal replaced with Davidsen's new AR Sapphire which is a super dome beauty! Lovely light blue AR that flits around the arched dome, lots of magnification of the dial, and edge disortion. If he introduces a 127, it will be very, very, cool. Selfishly, I hope he concentrates on 6152s personally. 1950 is nice, but a good Vintage 47mm; why go with a remake?

I agree with Enzo. There are plenty of "near perfect" Fiddys now with the new movement on the market. David led me to believe that he was focusing on the vintage 47mm and possibly a pVD version of some of the 47's.

EL's version has a new series number inscribed, it's no longer E0117/1950.......it's X52XX/1950

I guess for $350, people would get the new version instead. The sapphire crystal is wrong though.

Btw, I am working on my utimate 1950.

The new 1950 with new movement.
+ Cannon pinion installed by local watchsmith
+ Relume by myself

I am sure it will look better than my current EL v2. version.

Hi guys
whats with the distortion in these crystals ,
I've looked at many pics of fiddys or is it fiddies, and they all have one thing in common ,
the distortion of the numbers around the outside of the crystal ,
am I right in thinking this is because of the doming?
(a) are they all like this? maybe some worse than others?
(b) are the gens like this?
