So I'm waiting for David's new shipment of Ultimate Fiddys to arrive (mid March), when I stumble upon this bugger; http://watchwindersworld.com/pn12702-19 ... -1140.html and now I'm really confused. It looks great; 117 case, good bezel, AR sapphire, dial’s fine, who the heck knows about the lume, cannon pin is correct, heck it’s even got a dagger needle…the only thing that’s really buggin me is the fit and finish of the movement and the engraving…they look sloppy…or something…

Anyway, anyone have or seen Josh’s…or better yet been able to compare the two…how about first impressions from the pics? What do you think about the watch?

Wait for David’s or pick up this baby?

Cheers!

There ia quite a bit of reading in the two poats below, but worth it if you are thinking about a Fiddy.

Who has the best rep fiddy in the world?

Thanks for the links. I've read them both, and am aware that David's Ultimate is currently the bees knees around here...that's why I want one. I don't think I've seen much feedback on Josh's Fiddy though, so any thoughts would be appreciated.

After much debate I opted for Davidsens fiddy last fall and have been very happy with it. The crystal on the front and back are sapphire so I don't know about explosions. Probably the synthetic crystals are the ones causing problems. My fiddy is the 'H' movement which is the same one in a pam 217. So if you want complete accuracy ask him for the 'E' movement. I don't expect to get called out on the back of my watch so it is of no concern. It is an awesome watch to be sure.

My first PAM was a 217 from Josh. You are looking towards a 127, but anyway the big differences beteween Josh and Davidsen's models are :

-THICK CROWN AND CG (i'am not sure...)
-SUPERLUEMD C3 DIAL AND HANDS (not on Josh's model)
-HIGH CANNON PIN INSTALLED WITH NO RECESSED PIN PROBLEM (not on Josh's model)

The last two ones are now giveaway for me. Concerning the finish of e movt, i think that there is a big difference with the gen (quality look like), that why i haven't yet ordered it !!!

Pics of my Josh 217

awesome guys...thanks for the great feedback...I'm starting to get a bit antsy waiting for David's new shipment to arrive, but I think I'm just gonna need to be patient. After all I've read, it really does sound like the best 'outta the box' 127 that's available.

Mid March....jeez!

Cheers!

Wait for Davidsen's - if you look closely, his movment (newest E-series) is an improvement over Josh's version.

Yes, going with Davidsens 127 is a no-brainer. The real sapphire crystal alone is reason enough, but add super-lumed dial and hands + the cannon fix, all this for less money delivered! I would get in line real quick!!

Also case is off on the non-Davidsen versions- Compare Josh's version to a gen and you'll see there's a little too much bezel visible to the side of the crystal- David's got it right- But as always his fonts are a little weak and the purplish tint of the AR is very much NON-gen.

But lume is amazing- newer movements look OK and CG and crown look really good on the davidsen.

Here's my Davidsen

Damn, NICE SHOTS...you know one tiny detail that drives me crazy though, why can't they just do a good job of countersinking the screw holes on the bridges...?

Fifty6vette, my wrist is 8" on the nose. I have to always order the larger straps.
