So, I know in the past there has been problems with the crystals bursting on the Fiddy model Panerai's. I know many of the dealers state this problem is licked, but how many have experienced this?

Mine has the genuine saphire crystal, and did the water test on it. Should I be worried that Ill be sitting at my desk one day and it will burst? I baby my watches...

Thanks in advance.

I had one with a supposed to be real sapphire crystal and it exploded on a plane flight. No#1, I don't believe it was real sapphire and No#2 it was probably pressed on the watchbody improperly causing extra tension over the surface of the crystal. So if your crystal is real sapphire and properly pressed on the case you probably will not have any problems. The ones that have broken seemed to have come from a batch of Ultimate Fiddys produced in July, August and Sept of last year. The caveat is to get one of Davidsen's Fiddy Crystal and have it on hand just in case or just have it installed.

It shouldn't if the crystal has been installed and aligned properly. I have had mine from Eddielee for a long time now and it's perfect, no problems whatsoever. :D
